I just wish they actually functioned properly  ;D :'( .  Both of these units need their capacitors replaced.  One has a ton of vertical ghosting and almost no sound and the other one has some sound issues and constantly crashes games, sometimes halfway into a full playthrough.

I have two Sega Game Gears now so I was finally able to test out my Gear-to-Gear cable for 2-Player gaming!

This was announced four days ago and surprised me a lot since the series has been dead since 1998. I had just started playing Breakers Revenge a month ago and now a rerelease is coming to PC and consoles.  QUByte Interactive acquired the rights to the franchise on August 15th and immediately announced that they would be releasing this collection.  Apparently there will be bonus content, but nothing specific has been specified yet.

Here's a video I made with a friend of mine about the series as well as our thoughts on the announcement and what we're hoping to see in Breakers Collection.

What are your thoughts on this?  Have you ever played Breakers before or at least heard about it?  What would you like to see done with this collection?

I've actually found sealed Channel F games for sale on eBay, but never the console itself :D.  I would love to at least try one out someday since I don't think there's any emulation scene for it.

I'm not sure if any of you guys here are familiar, but this is a really cool service I've been using for the past 5 months to practice Super Street Fighter II Turbo.

http://www.fightcade.com/

The main focus of FightCade is for people to play classic 2D fighting games online, but several other titles are also supported such as Final Fight and Puzzle Bobble.  As long as both players have a decent connection, the games run very smoothly.

Have any of you ever tried FightCade?  What are your thoughts on it?

The music is very impressive.  It's actually some of the best I've heard on the Genesis so I'm definitely looking forward to hearing the complete soundtrack.

Sooooo..... he couldn't find his 32X  :'(  Well, at least we got to play Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior in MAME on Windows XP!  ;D  Hopefully next time he'll find it.  Either that or I'll just go to his place and play the arcade cabinets in his garage!  This guy has Double Dragon!

A friend of mine is coming over later tonight with his Sega Genesis Model 2 and Sega 32X!  I've only ever emulated the 32x so this it's going to be quite awesome to finally try the real thing.  He has four games, only two of which I can remember the names for at the moment, After Burner and Knuckles Chaotix.  This is gonna be great!

I guess so.  It certainly is a great excuse XD

I bought a Power Base Converter last week...and it doesn't work XD

It's either my Model 1 Genesis or the PBC, but for some reason, after playing it for about 30 minutes, if I decide to play a different SMS game, I'll get nothing but a black screen when I turn it back on.  This lasts for about an hour and then it's fine again.  I'm going to test this on someone else's Genesis and if it still does this, I'm returning it and putting out the extra money for a model 1 Master System.  Besides. I wanted one anyway  ;D

I've recently become obsessed with OutRun.  I've been playing it on the Sega Genesis and I can't get enough of Magical Sound Shower.  I really want to play the game at an arcade sometime.

Here is another video looking at the Atari Panther...

LOL, I already had this in my "watch later" playlist.  Top Hat Gaming Man is certainly getting a lot of attention lately and these unreleased console videos are definitely helping him.

I've been testing out the gaming capabilities of Windows 2000 this week.  I haven't done much with it yet, but so far I am impressed.  It detected my Logitech controller immediately and I played some of Microsoft's PC titles such as Motocross Madness.  I still need to test 3.1 and DOS games, but I have a feeling they won't play any better than they do in XP which sometimes is quite well and other times means refusing to run.
