Atari Chat / Re: Jaguar Doom+

Glad you guys understand and are so supportive! We havent even built a webpage again, and basically are working on two games at the same time. So IF we get time, we definitely have our hands full. Back when we released Blackout! neither of us had jobs, and could dedicate weeks at a time to it.

But yes, thank you for understanding. We are trying to be tight lipped about things merely because we dont want to keep everyone anxious or upset.

Doom+ and Heretic are almost ready to go. But the tricky part is releasing it. Thats why it hasnt moved forward, we'd like compensation for the work but copyright etc are tricky to get passed. Doom+ is easier to get by for sure. When we figure out what to do, we'll release it. Until then, we have about a dozen other original titles to finish. Jeff just had a kid, and number two on the way. And I just got a house and got married. So life is much busier.

The game is nearly complete. Its on temporary hold as we both have had some life events happen lately. But yes, we will be putting stuff up on a site to sell. I will announce it here when the time comes. I would announce ist else where but I am not on those sites, or I dont want to be on those sites lol

Crossing my fingers. Nothing would make me more happy than to know I made sure this title got into as many households as possible. And if the burden became too much, I would find the right people to carry the torch (provided they do it for next to no profit). I didnt design the game, and neither did any other distributor. Nobody has the right to make cash off of this

I'm still working on that with him. Im sure more people would rather have it for free or at cost. Granted it may not be the most superb package etc. But the point is to get it out there without price gouging. Lost titles need to be in the fans hands, and not hidden away.

I was in contact with the guy too. I was offering to release the .bin so people could play it for free as well as release the game on cd/cart at cost for parts. But if Carl can sell it for 80-100 bucks a pop more power to him.

Retro News & Chat / Re: Cost Effective Jaguar Dev Solution
« on: July 26, 2014, 00:39:45 AM »
Now that I think of it.  The O.P. blanking his replies could simply mean he couldn't deliver on his project.  The only cost effective dev solution that may actually come out is from this guy:

He's been querying for interest in a new Skunkboard run and received it in vast amounts :)

He can deliver, he just doesn't care to. All of the projects we have are real and can be finished or continued. He is very busy in the real world with a new home, new job, and a kid on the way. And I asked that we both take a few months off, simply because my personal life has taken a turn financially and very busy as well.

That being said, I think he removed his posts (based on our previous phone conversation) because he is just tired of forums and the petty drama. He is also mildly offended about certain posts being edited or omitted. And he would rather share any dev info on a personal site. A place where his freedom of speech goes unhindered. Kieren was just another excuse to be disappointed in how things are handled on any forum that he frequents. Granted Kieren seems to have trouble follow him wherever he goes. I firmly believe that his openness to the public, and unwavering confidence when it comes to sticking up for himself or others is what makes him a target. (Well that and the fact that every forum is infested with fanboys of, shill accounts of, members of, and junior members of reboot.)

I'm sure this post will be edited or omitted to spare everyones "innocent and virgin" eyes. But that is part of the same sad problem. Its like pre-crime. Stop censoring posts! Wait and see if it becomes a problem to others. Don't assume.

Kieren will be missed both here, and any other forums. I cant speak for Jeff or others if they are staying or going. Myself, I will probably just post occasionally or lurk. But my contributions are (as agreed with my partner Jeff) going to be reserved for a yet-to-be-named personal site. In case anything personal or copy written is abused by others we will have more control over its usage and removal.

Man, I prefer the NES music though.

Same here Russ, as we are indifferent as to wether or not to even bother lol.
This game I believe became the rarest title on the system not because we planned it that way, nor because its special, but because it was both loved and maybe even more-so hated. So much so that it was nothing but trouble to keep making it. But if there is enough people to bother, we will bother. And so far the poll looks like enough for a minimum order of parts for a 1-off run. Will it be the last? I hope not. But will there be another in the near future? Nope.  :78:

If someone wants to flip it, theres no stopping them. And if someone wants to order more than one copy, be my guest.

I know exactly what it is. And I must say, I am happy it is coming out- I had a chance to make it happen for everyone FOR FREE or for cost of parts. But it is what it is. Like I say, just glad it will happen (even for 50-100 bucks each...)
