Here is my latest retro purchase (I think we can count the Xbox 360 as retro now) I was looking for racing games that play like the PS2 games Motorstorm but for the Xbox 360 and these three are what cames up online. So far from playing they are pretty fun games but I would nail'd is the closest to Motorstorm.

General Retro Chat / Remake of Sega Gargoyles game
September 14, 2022, 19:04:08 PM
Hi guys,

Haven't posted in a while but just looking people's opinions on this remake.

I loved the cartoon as a kid and was disappointed that I could never play the game because it never came out in my country.

Is the game actually any good and will a remake be worth it?

Hopefully it gets a physical release.

Retro News & Chat / Perfect Retro game night.

Hi Guys,

Have not been on here in a while but a conversation I had recently I thought would be interesting to put on this forum.

Rules are simple. You are hosting a retro game night and can only have one game per console you own (imagine you have enough TVs to have them all on at the same time if don't already) which games do you pick?

Below are my picks:

1. Mega Drive - My first console is a mega drive and the game I would pick is Micro Machines V2. A racing game is always a good place to start plus this game has the infamous J-Cart which allows for four players without a multi-tap.

2. PS1- Second console is a PlayStation and for this one I would go with a fighting game and what else would you pick but the classic Tekken 3. I personally think it is a perfect fighting game.

3. PS2 - For my PlayStation 2 I am going to cheat a bit. I am going to pick TMNT 3 because it has the SNES classic Turtles in Time in it. Also it is great as you can use a multi-tap for four players.

4.Wii - This one is easy for me. Got to be Super Smash Bros. The Wii has a lot of games that are great for a party but for me smash is the best.

5. XBOX 360 - Got to have a sports game somewhere so I think putting a games a FIFA on the Xbox is best. Probably would pick FIFA 08 or maybe FIFA 15 because I just like the stats of the teams I support in those games.

6. Switch - Finally for the Switch I would pick Mario Kart 8 simply because you can't go wrong with good ol' Mario kart.

I am sure a few guys on here can come up with much more interesting choices than I.

Just made a big purchase for the man cave. Got a pinball machine :) it is an old tropic isle pinball machine from 1962 that has been refurbished, repainted to a Disney theme and had a modern digital score screen added. It a lot of fun to play and the perfect addition to the many geeky things I collect.

Haven't played mega Man 11 but it has to be the best game in years because it is the only game in years. I picked Megaman 3 as the only game of Megaman I ever played was on the mega drive which is wily wars and that is a compilation of 1, 2 and 3.

That looks like a very nice haul.

Haha I have a few things like that. Happens when you collect geeky stuff.

Did you get a chance to try this out properly. I am thinking about buying something like this. Is it worth the money?

Reviews agree. The button set up apparently makes it uncomfortable to use some buttons.

Yep apparently made for fighting games. Specifically smash Bros but the original GameCube controller is perfect for smash so seem like a pointless endeavour. I think the company got a big head because their N64 was well received.

Seen this controller and struggling to understand why retro fighters made it. The original GameCube controller configuration seems perfect to me for most games tbh.

I would say there is more that just two good sonic games but unfortunately I do have to agree that there is definitely more bad games than good ones :(

I stuck in Sonic Riders Zero gravity the other day. I played it with my GameCube controller and had a bit of fun I heard the thing is not fun to play with the Wiimote.
