Hi everyone and welcome to the June 2017 edition of "WHICH IS BEST?".
Last month I placed two versions of Marble Madness on the Megadrive against each other which was the Japanese Tengen version and the World EA version, I can announce the Tengen version stormed to the win with 24 votes compared to just 2 for the EA version.
It was the lowest vote count of the series by far making me think that I may just stick to the 8-bit and Amiga games which have shown to be far more popular in this series.
So, with that in mind I give you this edition to chew over, Jaguar XJ220 vs LOTUS 2 (Amiga), which to you is the better racing game out of the two, only your votes will determine that,...Happy voting!

I didnt remember how awful the EA music was, wow it's like a chorus of male Tom cats singing for their supper. I'd go Tengen purely for that reason

Ha yeah, I know what you mean lol.

Both games seem to have great gameplay. Subtle differences like the ball color and music could sway a player.

Hard choice. At this time EA was at the top of their game . They were willing to take chances and released a diverse selection of titles. Same could be said about Tengen which is or was Atari. lots of respect for both companies at that time.

My vote is for Electronic Arts.

And not forgetting the slightly earwrenching music of the EA version ;-)

Hi everyone and welcome to the May 2017 of Which Is Best?
(All previous episodes here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwNreNhW7CgheHTRuhjGLOIQy_y29bGub).

Last month I placed two of the most famous remembered games of the ZX Spectrum,...Chuckie Egg vs Manic Miner which no doubt challenged your loyalties to the max (Zeus's sick way of fun) and it was all down to the votes on the WOS site which were heavily in favour of Manic Miner although they all loved Chuckie Egg also but it was those votes that pushed Manic Miner to the winning line with 51 votes to Chuckie Egg's 37 votes, Chuckie was actually well ahead to begin with until the voters at WOS site had their say,...I'm a little bit gutted I have to say as Chuckie Egg was one of my fondest gaming memories, anyway great edition!

This month I place two versions of Marble Madness on the Megadrive / Genesis system against each other,....the Western version by Electron Arts and the Japanese version by Tengen, which would you prefer to have in your collection if you are a Marble Madness fan?!, which is the better conversion?!,...only you can decide that, happy voting!
Oh yes, the time cheat was used to show all of both versions and YES i know I'm not very good at them lol.

Manic Miner is the winner gaining 51 votes to Chuckie Egg's 37.
Chuckie Egg was actually racing ahead in the early stages and was leading up to the mid 20's in votes but it was all down to the votes on the WOS forum site where they were clear Manic Miner fans by voting for that game in droves BUT everyone still had high respect for Chuckie Egg as no'one can deny it really is a great game and I myself prefer it over Manic Miner for It's sheer playability,...so bit sad it lost here.

Thanks for all who took part, the May 2017 edition will be up in a day or so.

Who's leading so far? Theres lots of Chuckie Egg love on this page. I think the cool kids are too busy playing Manic Miner....
By the way, my earlier post comes across a bit arsey after a re-read. Was not intentional dude.

Well Chuckie Egg seems to be more popular on my youtube channel where this video is based but on WOS for instance the guys on the forums there seem to much favour Manic Miner so It's too close to call yet, I have a feeling by 15th May it will be Manic Miner the winner,...personally I'd prefer Chuckie Egg  ;)

P.s, no offence taken.

Hi everyone, I'm just about to hit 4000 subs on my game channel and plan to do a Q&A special vid shortly so I would like to offer those of you that are either all ready subbed, follow my channel or basically just nice cool gaming fans to submit any questions about my channel, my content, me or even idea's you might like to see on my channel.
The vid below says it all, if possible could you leave any questions on the actual Youtube video as It's harder to gather all the questions on all the forums where the video is embedded,....far easier if they are all on the Youtube vid,...please leave them here on the forum if you cannot sign into Youtube otherwise
Official 4000 sub video up in around 3wks.

Thanks to all, Zeus.

I've just had a quick look through the video. Is it just two back to back play throughs? Is it you playing them I guess?

Not much variation in the Chuckie Egg levels.

Yep It's me showing not only my top skills in them both ;-) ,...but also to remind gamers of the difference between the two games, they are not playthroughs.
What game you feel is a game you'd like to play more???,...hence which is the better game.
10 days left to vote everyone!

Hi everyone and welcome to the April 2017 edition of the Which Is Best?
Last month I placed two Amiga shooters against each other,...X-Out & Z-Out, I can announce X-Out gained the victory with 20 votes with Z-Out claiming 15, Z-Out was storming ahead at the beginning by 12 votes to 5 but then X-Out started to crawl back to the point it was 14 all but in the end it overtokk Z-Out and claimed the victory,...nowhere near as many votes this time as the previous comparrison (Turrican vs Turrican II) but maybe it was all down to not many liking those games.

This month I'm going to test your loyalties and place two classic original ZX Spectrum platforms games against each other, one slow methodical and challenging, the other fast and furious, they are Manic Miner and Chuckie Egg, which do you think is the better game?!, only your votes will determine that,...happy voting! :-D
P.s, I will only count the votes stated in the comments below and on the Youtube video.

All the best, Zeus.

Retro News & Chat / PROJECT ZX LONGPLAYED! :-D
March 16, 2017, 22:47:29 PM
Here you go guys after many of you kept requesting it from me, finally here it is, a longplay of the AWESOME Project ZX game.

So the story is, Sir Clive Sinclair is seriously p*ssed-off with all us kids back in the day that used his invention for games only and not It's intended purpose which was for learning at home after school.
He embarks on evil retribution by unleashing hundreds of characters from around 100 games to destroy you, but you can stop this by controlling your fighter and blasting your way through a dozen levels across many games released by many software houses on your mission to confront Sir Clive himself.
This is an absolute wonderful game, cleverly invented and implimented to full enjoyment, I found myself smirking hugely with nostalgia seeing all these classic games of my past, it really is a great idea of a game and a total joy and laugh to play.
Included in this longplay is the full game including the secret bonus stage, progression screen, ending and hifi music screen, all times listed below.
I really hope you all enjoy watching this longplay, officially the first longplay recorded of this amazing game Project ZX.
All level start times are shown in the Youtube video.
Note: first few minutes is game and spoiler alert info for your own good just in case you do not wish it to spoil any surprises if you are still playing the game.
Download the game here below and consider donating a small payment for all the hard work that's gone into this game for you to play free of charge: http://www.langfordproductions.com/projectzx.html

All the best, Zeus.
