Quite a lot more color than the original.  I still really like the 2600 version, although Beefdrop for the 7800 has recently caught my eye.  DPC+ is becoming the goto (he,he) for newer VCS homebrews.

Sega Chat / Re: Sega Megadrive Remake Console from Blaze/At Games
« on: November 04, 2015, 15:46:42 PM »
We have two with the huge libraries of games.  My two year old loves it.  Her official first game system is an AT-Games Sega Genesis.  My older kids play it a lot when they help out watching her.  Sometimes the music is out of  tune on NTSC games (not sure about other regions.).  I've noticed that the instruments in music sound a bit different at times, too. Sometimes better!? It will play a lot of Japanese games as well.  I love how the Japanese Sonic has scrolling clouds and stuff in the backgrounds.  I show them the differences using the built in Sonic on the AT-Games and my Mega Drive version of Sonic.   :113:

I love girl heroes!  This looks like a much needed scroller for the VCS!! Very nice artwork considering the many limitations.  I wonder if it's ASM or VWBASIC!?

I've built several arcade cabinets (9 total) and modded a couple as well.  I would stay away from SFII in advertisement as it is a six button game (or more).  There are plenty of great (possibly better?) games out there that would shine on this system.  Neo Geo games are generally four buttons or less and that would be great.  A lot of their shooters are graphical powerhouses and would make the system look great.  Of course any popular old school console game is gonna be attractive to the retro enthused.  I don't think that a couple of hundred bucks is too much if the system is very high quality.  A couple of small arcade systems have come out lately to lackluster reviews.  One has very poor emulation (some games have no sound while others play poorly) and others lack the real hardware as they are usually just touchscreen adapters with controller software.  A great screen with real arcade controls would make all the difference.   :67:

I totally love the look!  It's like one of those old Candy cabs that are all over the eastern world.  I would scoop one up right away, sure!

"And what's this slot for?"

"You put your meth in it!"  :35:

Arcade & Pinball Chat / Re: Any Arcade owners?

I also recently got a Pandoras Box.  Mine doesn't like the monitor in my HS-5, so I will likely build a cabinet for it with a switching power supply and a nice big VGA compatible flat screen monitor.  I've seen videos of it working great with monitors, but on my arcade machine it has terrible screen tearing and bad frame rates.  It also gives me no control over screen width and my screen only allows for vertical adjustments, so it boxes in the games (even with the ratio being proper!?!).  I love the selection of games and it appears to perform better with certain titles that the Blue Elf 09 pooped out on, so it was worth it.  I'll just need to put it in the proper setting to get the most from it.

This project has had a LOT of ups and downs.  I wonder if 7800 BASIC will allow for use of the extra chips in the expansion!?

I noticed that it said "Austin" in the background when I first watched this.  I wonder if they put that in there due to it's close release proximity to the game fest?  Or are they from Austin?  I love the vid.   :41:

I sure hope they do get it back on track.  There are enough games out there today done in the older style to have a lot of great software without the need to have adapters for older systems.

Great vid NSG.
