Title: Power supply issue with megadrive
Post by: Ryuhi on December 08, 2018, 19:49:06 PM
Hey guys,

Quick question,

The socket for my megadrive power supply is loose. I usually have to put the game box underneath the power supply cable to get my megadrive to work. Does anyone know if this issue is fixable?

I will post up pictures when I get the chance.

I'd be very surprised if that couldn't be fixed. Don't be afraid of opening it up (with the power off) and having a look - it could be just that something has worked loose inside.

I'd say it prolly has a dry joint thats caused a disconnection.

Open it and have a look fella.

Fun fact - you can use a Jaguar power supply with a Megadrive.  I've been doing so for years.  :)

Its most likely just a dry joint on the socket that the PSU plug goes into.

Should be a cheap and easy fix for anyone that can solder !
