Title: Mega CD Ram question
Post by: VictorLazarus on November 21, 2016, 13:26:17 PM
Hi there,

I'm slightly at odds, as every time I debate putting some searipus time into Shining Force CD, I realise I won't be able to save my progress, or more specifically, the unlocked game.

As a PAL back up ram cartridge seems to be ghostly rare, does anyone know if a US or Japanese ram cart is useable?
I know the system is region locked for CD's.

Thanks for your time.

MVL.

Stone Age Gamer  (http://www.stoneagegamer.com/ultra-cd-backup-ram-cart.html) sells new region free backup carts. Probably worth checking Funstock or other UK based retailers to see if they sell them too so you can avoid having to pay shipping from the US.

Thanks! That was very helpful, I'll be ordering one of those soon. Got slaughtered by postage importing a NES blinking light win recently, but this doesn't look too bad. And I don't mind the delivery time.

Cheers.

No problem :) Nice to see people making new stuff like this, the originals can be hard to find and expensive.
