Title: Sega Megadrive Remake Console from Blaze/At Games
Post by: Katzkatz on November 04, 2015, 10:56:10 AM
I know it's a bit old now(having been released in 2009), but has anyone tried this?  Or owed one?  There's a couple of versions available, with having different amounts of in-built games.  They take old cartridges.  There's also a NTSC/PAL switch.  I think that it's okay with US games - but not Japanese ones.  I think it's composite output only.

There's a handheld version and one that you connect to the TV.  I have the former which works pretty well.  It does also have the capability off connecting to the TV but I just use it as a handheld. The other cool thing is that you can use a micro SD card to add games so it is a nice way to play homebrews that are released as ROMs.

We have two with the huge libraries of games.  My two year old loves it.  Her official first game system is an AT-Games Sega Genesis.  My older kids play it a lot when they help out watching her.  Sometimes the music is out of  tune on NTSC games (not sure about other regions.).  I've noticed that the instruments in music sound a bit different at times, too. Sometimes better!? It will play a lot of Japanese games as well.  I love how the Japanese Sonic has scrolling clouds and stuff in the backgrounds.  I show them the differences using the built in Sonic on the AT-Games and my Mega Drive version of Sonic.   :113:
