Title: BBC Micro in Javascript
Post by: zapiy on September 23, 2015, 06:19:30 AM
For those with little of no experience with the BBC Micro this is something you need to have a play with.

A clever chap has reproduced the workings of the BBC Micro for your web browser, apparently this only took him a couple of months to create. Hats off to the guy.

Anyway check it out here http://bbc.godbolt.org/?disc=elite.ssd# (http://bbc.godbolt.org/?disc=elite.ssd#)

I've never heard of the BBC Micro and am unsure of what to do once the page is open. Do you know what to select or type in to get the ball rolling? Or, a quick steps how-to is always welcome 8)
I'm interested in exploring this but am stuck atm.

Do you see some drop down menus?

Select Disk
From STH Archive

You will see a selection of games.

At the bottom you will see a Auto Boot tick box.

Oops, yes. Ironically, I'd done just that earlier but clicked on "Load from Stairway to Hell Archive" as nothing else would appear. Then it errored out. My connection is lagging drastically though. Now I see the files and clicked on one of them (zip files). It says it's loading it, that text disappears then nothing. Will try this again when my isp is actually providing again. Thanks for the info 8)

Google chrome appears to be the best browser from me to use btw.

Great info, thanks. I'll install Chrome from here (//http) as soon as I back up the current build of Ubuntu.
Incidentally, I used the filter to load Pacman and it almost did once in Firefox. Made a sound, showed the intro(?) screen for a millionth of a second and disappeared. 8)

Can't wait to be up and running with this.
