Title: Let's Compare - Crazy Climber
Post by: TrekMD on November 07, 2014, 17:27:49 PM
Crazy Climber is a coin-operated arcade game produced by Nichibutsu in 1980. It was also released in North America by Taito America Corporation by UA Ltd. in 1982 for the Emerson Arcadia 2001 and other video game consoles. It is one of Nichibutsu's most highly acclaimed video games in its library. A precursor to the platform game genre, Crazy Climber was the first game revolving around climbing, specifically climbing buildings, before Nintendo's 1981 release Donkey Kong.

Had many good games on Crazy Climber in the arcades back then. Fondly remember that it was the first twin joystick control game I had ever played. Never realized back then it was released on VCS, so next best thing was Spiderman. Plays somewhat similar on VCS.

This title was an Atari Club exclusive back in the day (like Quadrun).  That may be why you were not aware that it existed on the 2600.

I don't think I've ever played this before, but it does look like a fun little game.
