Midnight Resistance is a side-scrolling action shooting game that was released in the arcades in 1989. The game was ported by Data East to the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive in 1990 and by Ocean Software to various home computer platforms that same year. Midnight Resistance is set in a dystopian future where the player controls a member of a resistance movement who goes on a mission to rescue his kidnapped family from a mad scientist. So, how well did the game translate to home versions? Let's find out...

Never played this one. From my experiences most Sega conversions were pretty close to the original. I was impressed with all them. The ZX Spectrum version looks like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle when standing next to the green jeep. That would be my choice to play first. A for effort for the color palette available.
The Genesis version does look really good. Something to check out!
Yes, it would. Wonder how an arcade stick for the Genesis version would work?

Are you referring to the Arcade Stick controllers that exist for the console or something else?
Yep, the six button arcade stick. I do not have one but it would be interesting to see if getting one would help or hurt the play experience.

How does the gun direction mechanic work on this?
Does it lock direction when holding the fire button?
