We already have a thread asking for your most favorite First Person Shooter game. How about expanding on that idea and looking at other first person perspective games? There are tons of other games that use this perspective and I'm sure we all have several favorites. Here is one of mine and on the Atari 2600:

I didn't know that game, looks fun!
There's a game I never heard about it until a couple of years ago and it's great, it's Mercenary:
ATARI ST MERCENARY RETURN TO TARG - HELP!!! NEEDS LONGPLAY (//http)
You can download a remake for PC here if you want to try it:

The Sentinel is a very good strategy game, 9999 different stages!:
The Sentinel - The Review (C64 Version) (//http)
There's a free remake here, also for Windows:

You don't know Escape From the Mindmaster? It's a SuperCharger game for the Atari 2600! Super game!Â

No but it looks cool, that tiny alien must be a tough one!
It is a superb game and incredible for the 2600!

Super Spy is a great game, I had forgotten all about that so thanks for the reminder, need to play it some time. I honesty thought Silent Debuggers was one of the most boring games I have ever played though, not broken or unplayable just ultra dull.
I begun playing FP view game with the Jaguar so my favorite remains Alien Versus Predator on the Atari Jaguar.
Otherwise I really like Shining the Holy Ark on Saturn I have finished it twice every time I played it I could not play anythng else until I finished.

Thanks.
Along with the Super Spy, there's also Crossed Swords. I have both of these for the Neo Geo CD and they are great games!

There's also a sequel to Crossed Swords too. Really need to pick this up some time!
"Crossed Swords II" Neo Geo CD (//http)
That looks cool. I wonder if the programmer was inspired by Punch Out!!
Little PD game on the Amiga, yes its a shooter but it has cool special attacks and effects..... Would make a good new 'Feud' maybe

I am going to go at this slightly differently with two of mine . . .
Now I don't usually like playing any traditional driving games in (first person) cockpit mode but there is one notable example (and it's sequel) that I feel differently about. In both these games you can only play with this view and they actually got it spot on - Test Drive I & II. I loved the original game on the Atari ST and bought Test Drive II: The Duel for the Spectrum when it came out and later for the Mega Drive too:

Those look interesting, Laird. They certainly are FPP games!
[align=center:2qph9ulv]Battle Wheels - Atari Lynx (//http)[/align:2qph9ulv]
Here is another game that is totally awesome...
[align=center:1i0luhxd]Quick Clips - Atari 7800 - 003 - Ballblazer (//http)[/align:1i0luhxd]
[align=center:2k2g9o80]Seen I seem to be following a theme of driving games that only have a first person perspective, here are a couple more that I thought of:
Hard Drivin' - Arcade (//http)
Stunt Car Racer (Atari ST) (//http)[/align:2k2g9o80]
Here is another awesome FPP game, this time for the Atari Lynx....Battlezone 2000!
[align=center:1a5vpmje]BATTLEZONE - Atari Lynx (1993) (//http)[/align:1a5vpmje]
[align=center:1rg4vgno]I should have also added these 2 fantastic Atari ST games too:
Atari ST - No Second Prize (1993) (//http)
Vroom - Atari ST (//http)[/align:1rg4vgno]
I'm sensing a theme here, Laird. Maybe you like FPP racing games?Â

Thing is I usually prefer to play racing games 3rd person, so was surprised I came up with so many!
I'm going to throw out a Jaguar game I don't hear mentioned very often, Towers II. It really is a great First Person RPG, I would recommend it to anyone who has a chance to pick it up reasonably, if RPGs are your thing. Outside of that, the first person Shining games were all great; I think Shining the Holy Ark doesn't get the love it deserves when compared to the Megadrive Shining games.

Great pick! I really like Towers II, it's pricey for sure but worth itÂ

That video rocks, I think I watched the original back in the day! The music is dubbed over, theres none in the game and its definately an Amiga Power video as they advise you to "use your second driver to take out the back markers" lol

I sent you a PM. You need to remove the "s" from the web address. In other words, it needs to read "http:" instead of "https:"

He also kept breaking the [/url] tags, which you don't even need to use. You just have to post the actual URL/link.
Here is another FPP game that I enjoy. This time on the Atari Lynx...

The best Mech-simu ever created

Steel Battalion on Xbox
Some FPP RPGs come to mind for me. D&D Order of the Griffon on the Turbografx (Dungeons and towns were FPP) and D&D Eye of the Beholder on Sega CD are two of my favorites. Also not RPG but Jumping Flash on the original Playstation was an early favorite.
Arethius, that's cool I always wanted to play Steel Batallion when it came out. I even bought it but I wound up selling it to someone because I realized I didn't have the appropriate space for it. Kind of regret it now.
Then prepare for a trip to France in September we should organize a Steel Battalion lan party

Ah yes, Iron Soldier is a definite. I was actually playing Iron Soldier 3 recently for an article I am writing!

That looks like the same type of blast-away fun that original was!Â
[align=center:jk5jfdu0]One of my favourite games on the Atari ST and one that really pushed the hardware to the limits too!
Robocop3_MSTE.avi (//http)[/align:jk5jfdu0]
Robocop! The gunshots on that game sound very good!
[align=center:93ectzn9]There are a lot of very good FPP space games too, most notably the excellent Star Raiders games:
Star Raiders (Atari 8-bit) (//http)
Star Raiders 2 (//http)
Star Raiders - Atari ST Longplay (//http)[/align:93ectzn9]
Yes! I had totally forgotten to add one of my favorites that plays along those lines: Phaser Patrol for the Atari 2600 using the Supercharger.
