So who out there owns one of these?
It was a rip of the Nintendo Gameboy that looks a bit like a Game Gear and used game cards like the Lynx. Released in the UK by joystick manufacturers Cheetah it originally came from Taiwan where it was produced and sold by Bit Corporation, who are most famous for 2600 games like Mr. Postman and Bobby Goes Home. It was also released in other markets by different people but failed in all of them. Depsite this it has around 70 games available for it, many are rip-off of games on other sytems.

I found this brilliant UK advert for it too that shows just how cheap it was, I remember nearly buying one because of the price!

Why do I still want one these?Â
Cause its collectable?
Quote from: "zapiy"Cause its collectable?
I think its just because I love obscure consolesÂ
The cards look like Sega Master cards.
Never heard of this before but it would be pretty cool to have one.
Zapiy, you definitely need one of these for your hand held collection.
very odd INDEED... don't think I'll be getting one lol

Yeah I would like one at some point. Couple of other retro priorities first lol.
Saw the advets in Zzap64 etc at the time, as well as reviews and seemed a real curio and not in a good way.
The size of a Game Gear and the screen 'quality' and 'power' it seemed of a Gameboy (i am a gameboy owner, was given it as a present, own 2 games for it and hate it.No matter how much i adjust the settings, i just cannot stand that god awful screen).
What was battery life like on it and why is it so big-most of it just casing or what?.
'Watching' video as i type and did chap just say GAYmate...? and again.....and Cheetah is an unknown to him? went through numerous joysticks from them.Too much waggling as a youngster, no wonder my eyesight is poor.
I tried one out in Software Plus (long lost chain that sold it) in St. Albans back in the day and seem to remember it being pretty good. I thought the screen was much clearer than the Gameboy but the games did blur a lot, I remember playing some top down game where you were in a tank but that's about all I remember of it.
Would love to pick one up just out of curiosity more than anything, that and the fact I love obscure consoles, but have never managed to find one.
All this talk of Vindicators, has prompted this old advert.
That is awesome Ice!!!
Thanks for posting itÂ
Every time I see the title of this thread, I have to wonder what the genetics of a cheetah have to do with gaming! I just read the cheetah gamete!Â
and i wonder what the sexuality of the cheetahs friend have to do with anything.

Showing my American ignorance, I have no idea who Betty Boo is? But that quote is funny.

Re:Betty Boo:
A 'pop star and sex symbol' ahem from years back, had a few hits and soon dissapeared.
Real name Alision Moria Clarkson, born in London, popped up on The Bitmap Bros game 'Magic Pockets' in terms of her music being used (Doing The Do..or something..i forget exact spelling of..)
Bitmaps had just set up their 'Renegade' label around this time which linked them with record label Rhythm King' so they'd already used Bomb The Bass music on Xenon II (Betty's fav.game she claimed in a Games-X interview on her fav.computer the Atari ST, lol) and Bomb The Bass were also involved with the soundtrack for Speedball II:Brutal Deluxe, but via Tim Simenon, under name Nation 12.
There was believe it or not, once a rumour going around old Betty was going to be turned into a computer game.Thankfully it stayed at just that, a rumour...
When asked what was her fave console, answer came back as:Nintendo Famicon! gasp!!!!!

Also, I believe she tried suing Sega as she believed they'd ripped off her 'look' with the character Ulala in the Space Channel 5 series.
I know Deee-Lites's 'Lady Miss Kier' tried suing Sega for using her likeness in Space Channel 5 and got no-where.Case was dismissed, so i'd guess 'Betty's' attempt went same way.

My bad! I confused her with Betty Boo, lol!
That said, viewing the third video I linked the likeness to Ulala is rather striking too, imo.
Its cool DC! Just remember Groove is in the Heart!
