We all know about the obvious karting game that stars a fat Italian plumber but what others are there out there?
I have always been a fan of these, they are great fun and especially good multi-player games.
This is one of the earliest karting games that I remember:
Professional Go-Kart Simulator ZX Spectrum (//http)
For DOS PCs, there was Wacky Wheels.Â

Bobinator reviewed it for the site.Â

There is a sort of clone of it for DOS called Skunny Kart. I think it's based on the source code before it was copyrighted by Apogee. Caused a bit of a fuss back in its day because of that.Â

Power Drift.

I just remembered one for the Amiga. It's called Xtreme Racing and was released quite late in the Amiga's lifecycle - 1995. It's AGA only.
Here's some video :-

Wacky Races was on the PS one and various other consoles of the time. I can't remember what it was like to play although I think I still have it here somewhere.
Here is the Dreamcast Video of it

I never knew about that Woody Woodpecker game! What system is that on?

Playstation 1, but PC, Gamecube, and even Gameboy Color saw versions If I remember correctly. Must have if you grew up watching much Woody on TV.
I have this one on Dreamcast, and it is quite fun, especially for fans of Chip and Dale like myself.

Mortal Kombat got Motor Kombat on PS2. A different twist on the genre for sure.

That MK Kart game is so lame, cant believe anyone would buy it....
I only found out about that game recently and I still can't believe that it exists!Â
It was never a full game though was it. I thought it was just a bonus on the Mortal Kombat Armeggeddon disc.

No idea. That does make it slightly less shit I suppose.

I have it on Armaggedon and have only played it a couple times at the most. My initial impression was that it was alright and playable. A little gloomy and dark for my tastes, but not the worst game ever.
Here is one for the Sega Master System - Sonic Drift:
