They are only making 10?Â
This will be very rare one day then!
Indeed. Although I think the limited 10 are to the "complete" version.Â
What I don't understand is, why don't these games get a more broad release? Do a pre-order option and make as many as people will buy (complete or otherwise).Â

I have no idea either. They are doing a preorder but I don't know if they intend to sell more than the 10 complete sets.
I've never understood either publishers who will only do a one-time-only limited production run of a given game. Why not maximize profits and sell it indefinitely? Other than creating rarity and inflated profits for investors, I see no reason for this. Aren't games supposed to be for the players, not some get rich quick investors or those who hoard ten CIB copies for later profiteering on ebay?
Anyway, this game looks good and I am always glad to see new releases on classic consoles.

This is my feelings about all of those Atari 2600 carts, Colecovision, etc that get made. Many are 100 copy runs but still, if you can sell 1,000 why not produce 1,000? Why not sell through pre-order that way you don't make too many?

I have to agree with this also. Just look at what has happened with Battle Sphere for the Jaguar, a great example of what happens with limited releases.
No argument here. Such limited runs don't really help anyone but those who want to later sell the game on EBay for absurd amounts of money (be it $$$$, ££££, € € € € , or an other currency!).
I have an interview scheduled with the team leader at One Bit Games, are there any questions anyone want to have answered?Â
The limited quantities is one of my top questions.

That's cool. The limited release is definitely one to ask. Just a couple more for now:
- Do they have other titles planned for the NES?
- Are they planning on developing titles for other systems?

Any other games in the pipeline?
Do they plan on developing for other systems or just NES?
I just saw this on their site:
[font=georgia:1wjtsmxv]The ten first to order will be able to choose if they want the Limited Edition or cart only regular edition. Those who are not among the first ten can only get the cart only regular edition. The prices will not be the same between editions.[/font:1wjtsmxv]
So, it appears the game will be available for more folks just not boxed for everyone.Â
Great stuff indeed..
Love the packaging and stuff.
I've been checking the order page since the 1st multiple times! LOL
For those interested, the game is now available to preorder. No money is being taken at this time. Here is the link to the order page: Nighttime Bastards Preorder (//https). They already sold out of the Limited Edition boxed versions.Â
Looks cool!
I must say, even though we released Blackout! in a small run of about 100 total copies (50 cart/50 cd) somewhere in there. It was a fat pain in the ass.
But we were building all of the carts, boxes, labels, instruction cards by hand. Then shipping them all out on our own.
It really made us think again about releasing another physical title. god bless anyone who does that in large number on their own!
We considered releasing through a site that would do all of the labels, boxes, and logistics, but they take too much of the profit that we had spent months working for.Â
I may order a copy of this game though, looks fun and the graphics are very clean. Too bad they cant make boxes and manuals for it. Its silly. I know for a fact when you make boxes, labels, and manuals its done in a fair amount so as to not waste your time and money printing one off, here and there.
Yes, they only made boxes and manuals for 10 carts. The others are just carts. I am not sure if they did that intentionally to create rarity or if it was out of necessity. I was able to get #2.Â
Lucky dog!
Only #2 Trek? You're slipping, I thought for sure you would get #1Â

I just got notification that this game is ready to ship! I'm waiting on my invoice from PayPal to make payment.Â
I've rarely checked in at Nintendo-age but these limited runs can go for crazy prices right off the bat.
I'd much rather my games be limited by demand. All I can say is that when I make an NES game I already have a good source for boards and have a programmer for them.
The limited run if only of the CIB versions, if I understand correctly. Anything above 10 has no box and, I believe, is not limited.

Ah! Well then, that's makes all the difference!
I never got over the habit of ignoring the box and manuals once the actual cartridge was in my greedy hands!
