Who can forget that catchy tune!? :) This is another game franchise that would have been fantastic on the Jaguar.
There are actually quite a few versions missing in this video:

Cool. Where is the Jaguar version?Â

Games like these would have helped the Jaguar sell back then.

This game was old news by the time the Jaguar came along. Still I wish we had got a nice scrolling beat 'em up like this, Conan would have been great.

Cowabunga! I played the Nintendo version the most. I have TMNTgames for the Gamecube, NES, SNES and Genesis/Mega Drive. So it really would have been nice to see a Jaguar release.
Snes version is easily the winner for me.
Sorry for bringing up an old thread but I am really enjoying the Lets compare threads.

Would'nt worry, i thread bump all the time.Nothing wrong bringing older subjects back into the light, if you've something to add.
Welcome to the forum by the way, any chance you can tell us a little bit about yourself, your interest's etc?.Only ask as going by your user name i'd guess your a fan of G.I Joe? (only recently watched the movie) plus friend of mine really into his comic book stuff (as am i) keeps saying i should check out some of the G.I Joe Vs Transformers stuff, Snake Eyes supposed to feature heavily in that.
Loved my transformers as a kid, but man i'd be hard pressed to follow it now, so many spins on characters i used to know:Optimus Prime, Prime Nova, Sentinel prime, Rodimus Prime.....
Nightmare knowing who's who and where each character has come from and how they are known in other areas.
I love that Amiga version, i actually have that i think.. Never seen the other versions before.
I remember playing this in the arcades and loved it, no frills, just kick ass action with out any thinking involved..but when they released the Turtles on the Snes , I'd died and gone to Ninja Turtle heaven..best version out of all of them, both visually and audio, plus using Konami using mode 7 to chuck a enemy at the screen priceless
I want the SNES Turtles in Time game, but current prices are high.
I agree that a TMNT game on Jaguar would have been great. Maybe it would have even rescued the system?
Another comparison video of the TMNT Arcade game has been posted. Here it is:

Pretty sure TMNT was dead and gone by the time the Jaguar rolled around. You would have been more likely to get something like Biker Mice from Mars, or Street Sharks, or Stone Protectors. Come to think of it, they never DID make a Streets Sharks game. But considering the Jaguar got a game based on the Highlander cartoon, of all things, stranger things have happened, right?
On topic, though, I'd say none of the ports of the original TMNT arcade got it quite right, but if I had to pick one, I'd go for the NES version. The music's really good on that particular port, and it's got those nifty new levels.
NES actually had four distinctly different TMNT games:
NES Longplay [004] Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (//http)
TAS HD: NES Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (USA) in 30:30.87 by xipo (//http)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Tournament Fighters (NES) (//http)
Plus the already posted arcade translation.
Oh yes, the NES had quite a few versions!

When the arcade game came out it was without doubt my favourite coin-op around. My brother and I pumped money into it at every opportunity, it really captured the cartoon perfectly. I never understood why Konami made that crappy NES platformer first rather than convert this. Thankfully that was later corrected with this release and I rushed out to buy the Speccy version, it was actually the very last Spectrum game I bought before I got rid of it and traded it in for an Atari ST. The Spectrum version was pretty good despite the monochrome graphics and nearly non-existent sound. But I completed it pretty quickly and it just couldn't compete with the arcade game. I really wish I had purchased the ST version as I have found out in later years that it is actually very good indeed. I didn't really get my fill of the heroes in a half shell again until Konami released Hyperstone Heist for the Mega Drive (which was one of the few MD games I bought on release!)

Oh, that looks (and sounds) great! I want this!

Yes you definitely do! I really should do a review of it actually!
Hmm, seems to be a bit on the "rare" kind. At least, based on the prices I'm seeing in Ebay.

I was going to say actually, as it's quite rare/sought after over here but I wasn't sure if the same was true in the US.
I was really lucky, I snagged mine for £20 when I was randomly browsing eBay and saw a boxed one on a BIN that had only been listed a few minutes before, I didn't have to think twice!
Darn, you got lucky! I'm watching a couple of CIB versions right now.Â

The NES TMNT platformer is the redheaded stepchild of the series, but do find it to have a nice bit of fun as well.
As for Hyperstone Heist, it is a great game, although I wish Konami had added the ability to throw baddies into the screen ala Turtles in Time on SNES. To me, that is what makes Turtles in Time extra special.
No one has mentioned it yet, but Gamecube had this version and it is quite fun as well. I should mention that Gamecube is one of my favorite modern consoles, and underrated at that.
TMNT (Game Cube) Game Play (//http)
That looks cool. We don't really mention the Game Cube much, so it's cool to see this game for it.
Looks like the folks from Gaming History Source have uploaded a new video looking at TMNT. Check it out...
