I happened onto this by chance and I wanted to share it.  This game is called Pac-Man 5 and it is essentially a mix of Pac-Man games with feature from Pac-Mania included.  Most notably, it also features Ms. Pac-Man and Jr. Pac-Man game modes, which also replicate the arcade originals with the same level of faithfulness.  This is still a work-in-progress so I'll keep an eye on it.

That is a great idea, any idea if it would be made for a retro system?

I suppose it could be made for one of the retro systems.  It is Pac-Man, after all.   Maybe for one of the 16 bit systems, as they are more capable.  Its quite fun to play.

Wish the maze walls didn't pulsate to the music... very distracting. Hopefully there's an option to disable that.

I think you can turn off the music, which should get rid of the pulsing mazes.
