Looks like Twin Galaxies have finally seen enough evidence that Mitchell was cheating and they have wiped out all of his high score records and banned him from ever competing again!

I've never liked the guy ever since I watched the movie The King of Kong so this is great news to me.

Can't say I'm surprised, I don't know the guy and I'm sure there will be plenty of people on his side, just a sad state of affairs really.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer Narcissist for the level of self-entitlement, condescendence and the sheer audacity for years and years faking those scores and misleading those that actually thought that this person was a gaming legend only to find out he's nothing more than a red neck bullshit con artist lying piece of shit cheat..he and his supremacist followers should now all line up , stick their heads up their arse and disappear. R.I.P. Bill Bitchell!

King of Kong was great for the underdog in that film, when in actual fact he himself was the Champ...poetic justice FTW!

Doesn't come as a surprise with all the stuff that has been going on.  Unfortunate, really.  I've met Billy and he's nothing like what you see in the movie.  Sad that he cheated about the scores.  He was always there at FreePlay Florida.  I'm guessing he will be nowhere around this year. 

I heard about this the first time some months ago, thought he was already banned. Good riddance anyway. Cheat for yourself, as I do sometimes with PC games, but don't brag and fool other, honest people.

There's a guy who used to work for Twin Galaxies by the name of Patrick Scott Patterson. He had a falling out with Billy Mitchell and ever since he's been trying to prove he was a fraud and get him banned. This was many years in the making. There were other people who suspected he had cheated as well but Patterson was definitely the most vocal about it.

Sounds like something similar to what happened with Todd Rogers. 

Well, the latest is now that, the Guinness book of records has now reigned fire and brimstone on him now by removing his Pacman Run and the DK stuff, looks now Bill has gone from bullshit hero to hot sauce zero. He is never going to recover from this, the People vs. Bill Bitchell have won and this cheat is now floored ...BooM!

I'd seen this video this morning and broke my shite laughing at the PR collateral damage control Bill Bitchell sang..with absolutely nothing in this video in any manner to his opinions on the judgements of the decisions of both Twin Galaxies and especially Guinness book of records which is more important that twin galaxies with his hiscore table for officious reasons (They are bigger than Twin Galaxies", Bill Bitchell always plays the cool hand "Nothing can touch me" approach in the hope people will be suckered into believing him, the bottom line and undeniable proof is this Mullet fruit loop cheated and used Mame along with piss poor video editing to splice together Mame save states while exporting videos through the emulator to claim his own hiscores. The real first person to actually achieve the high score on a real Donkey Kong arcade board was Steve Weibe and not this bellend! Wish the fuck, he'd fuck off and sell his hot sauce and realise you're been caught never to escape the branding of a cheating twat!

I doubt he is going to just give up, GF.  I'm sure this is what he will be talking about at conventions moving forward.

I just learned that Billy has proven that he can reach (and beat) his record scores with people watching live.  Apparently this video from Twitch has to do with it:

First Billy Mitchell decided to sue Twin Galaxies claiming that his name has been defamed. That case is supposed to go ahead this summer.

Now someone has started up a  Go Fund Me  (https://www.gofundme.com/f/stopbillymitchell) to sue Billy Mitchell!

You can't even make this stuff up. . .

I had heard of Billy suing but not that someone had setup a GoFundMe to sue him!  I think Billy may end up having to play the game in court to show his skill.  That will be a long session!

Even if they do get an arcade unit in court and he gets that score again I don't see how that changes anything. He was banned for using an emulator and they have video evidence to prove it. Sure he probably didn't do that with all of his records and he might be able to get some of them back if he can prove he can do it, but as far as his name being defamed, he did that to himself by cheating. I'm no lawyer though so I could be completely wrong lol.

It would prove he can get the score.  Everyone keeps attacking this guy because he cheated to get the score.  If he proves he can get the score, then did he cheat to get it or does he actually have the skill to achieve it?  I'd think that may be the angle his attorney would take on this but I'm also not an attorney.  ;)

In my opinion if Billy Mitchell did not come across as such an arrogant jerk then maybe people wouldn't try to tear him down.

Well, this is interesting...

Regardless of how I feel about the guy, he's obviously very good at these games and most of his scores are probably legit. But he has also been proven to cheat at least once so I'm not really sure what they should do with his old scores. I'm a big believer in "once a cheater always a cheater" but really old scores before MAME was around are probably safe.

I wonder what it took for him to get his scores reinstated? Was it really is team of lawyers or did he just grease the right palms?

Well, we may have to wait until the case goes to court against Twin Galaxies.  That may reveal a lot more info.

The courts are a more recent development.  Rumor has it that Guinness may not have wanted to deal with that and just reinstated his stuff.  It'll be interesting to see what happens once things go to court with Twin Galaxies.

Yeah I watched that video last night. I know Notch is a little controversial and some people really don't like him, but pretty cool to see he's paying Karls legal bill for being sued by Billy!

I didn't know who Notch was until now.  I'm guessing that video is a matter of public record.  Billy does not look good in this video and some of what he said really was nonsense!
