So what games are there that you really wish got a sequel?
Is there one game that never got the series it richly deserved or a series that was cut off before its prime?
The first one for me is Streets Of Rage, it's criminal they never made a 4th game for the SaturnÂ
They did though...Fighting Force!
I suppose more proof that some 2d games don't work in 3d!
As I put on RG I would have loved a sequel to Hunter, can't believe it was made with more or less one man, imagine if they had a full team working a sequel!

Thats not a real sequel, plus the Saturn version never came out.

Well it would have been if Sega didn't pull out of the deal, so Core design rebranded the game, but there is plenty of stuff left in bar name changes that make it obvious a sequel that never happened.
The game itself was crap I played the ps1 version when it came out, too slow and sluggish...so best end with SOR3 than that pile of poop!
And also their was a fighting force 2 , which sucked pants..
For me a sequel than never made it and should of been has to be : Black 2 , I though and even now still think its look next gen fps , for a games nearly 10 yrs old ,this was way ahead of it's time for both visual and sfx and gameplay, their was a rumour that black 2 was in the works, but no..ea decided lets do another fucking need for speed game!, and with battlefield and moh it's very unlikely to happen, as with EA's judgement at present, is a big fucking mistake!
Personally I would love a new Grandia game. The first two are incredible games with a really good battle system. Or for a good arcade game a new Defender woud be awesome.
I wish STUN Runner had been given a sequel too, on the Jaguar with texture mapping - that would have been freaking sweet!
GODS by Bitmap Brothers..
I've got several sequels that I wish had happened over the years
Panzer Dragoon Saga 2
Ristar 2
Burning Rangers 2
Shenmue 3
Skies Of Arcadia 2
Zillion 3
I need to think of some more from the 8/16bit era, though I'm having trouble remembering at the moment lol
Ooh oh just thought of one, Comix Zone!!
Another Atari arcade game I wish got a sequel - A.P.B!
It was a really unique game at the time and would have been cool if they had done a new game with a more free roaming world a bit like Grand Theft Auto.

They really should have done a Burning Rangers game for the Dreamcast

Even a DC make over, using power of the DC to portray the Saturn game in it's full potential would have been superb, but yet again Sega did nothing with it
yeah that would've been incredible. I think there should be another Jet Set Radio soon and the two most obvious ones for ANY self respecting Dreamcast/Saturn fan must be:
Shenmue 3
Panzer Dragoon Saga 2
I know, I KNOW!! Orta does follow on however indirectly I just think there should've been another RPG in that world, it was just such an incredible game the first that to not do another was almost as big a sin as not finishing the Shenmue story

Ugh no no no please!!
Grandia was incredible, a masterpiece of gaming. Grandia 2 was something of a wet blanket and Grandia 3 was dire. I'd rather leave it there!
Oooh oooh! I got another!
Xenophobe
I really wish that game had got a sequel, it's the best Aliens game out there without having a license.

:-) Objection! what about Alien Breed Amiga or Alien Swarm (Unreal T.2004 Mod PC)? or C64 Project Firestart?

Alien Breed is good (as is Alien Thing on the ST) but I prefer Xenophobe. Especially on the Lynx via Comlynx!!!!
Hmm, a game that I think should have gotten an arcade sequel was Crystal Castles. I suppose I could think of the upcoming Bentley Bear's Crystal Quest on the 7800 as a sequel.

I always wish that Atari had made more use of Bentley Bear, he would have made a great mascot for the company.
There are so many Atari arcade games I would have liked to have seen sequels too like I Robot, Major Havoc, Robot Monsters, Peter Pack Rat, Thunderjaws, Skull & Crossbones and Rampart. In fact especially Rampart, they could have taken that concept much further with inland as well as coastal battles and taken it through the ages too. Sometimes I think Atari were too busy trying to come up with another original and innovative game when they could have been improving upon the formula of an existing one.
Bentley Bear really was indeed a character that could easily have been a great mascot for Atari. I wonder if they ever considered the idea.

My take:
Trouble with mascots is they get milked...to death!
Crash on PS1 appears in Karting game, (as does Sonic which is bloody daft as he runs fast, that's whole point, so why would he..ohh well you get the idea) as has Sackboy (LBP) has'nt he? (i hate LBP but sure the cloth twat popped up in a kart racer), they appear in Tetris clones, Tennis games, fighters, hack n slash games, you name it.

Would have loved to have seen I, Robot get the '2000' treatment on Jaguar.Original game I, Robot+ and I, Robot 2000 all on same cart.
Same with Rampart (and that's a superb idea of game advancing through the ages, kinda like way Mega-Lo-Mania did it, have each new era get better tech so field guns replaced cannons, introduction of tanks, aircraft etc)

Don't go giving 'em ideas, lol
Technically, it's been done.

Sure, they're not game mascots, but... hey, here's a game that needs a sequel!
Wild Guns (SNES) - HARD - No Death Run - Stage 1 (//http)
So this is Wild Guns, which is basically what happens when you take Cabal & Blood Brothers and make it as awesome as it can get. I mean, it's the Wild West. And there's giant robots. That should be all you need to play it, but it's also really, really fun. I can't think of much a sequel would add, honestly, but the way I see it, more of a good thing is never something I'd turn down.
CABAL!!!!! Great shout!!!!Â

And while we are talking about Tad Corp . . . . . . . . .
Arcade Longplay [002] Toki (//http)
Here's a video looking at a wish list of games that these folks wish had sequels...

A game I think would be fun to see some sort of sequel to is Klax! The original game is tons of fun but I bet someone could come up with ways of making it even better in a sequel.
Klax (Arcade) Gameplay (//http)[/align:384hotqf]
Good shout, I always wondered why Atari Games in the Tengen years seemed to shy away from making sequels.
Escape From The Planet Of The Robot Monsters, Xybots, Klax, STUN Runner, Pit-Fighter, Skull & Crossbones, Steel Talons, A.P.B., Toobin', Rampart and 720 Degrees (of the top of my head) should have all had follow ups.
All those games certainly were good enough to deserve sequels. A STUN Runner sequel would have been fantastic!

Sunset Riders Arcade - 4 players Playthrough (//http)
Screamer 2 (//http)
Power Drift C (//http)

Never played Screamer 2, but the others are excellent shouts!
Here is a fantastic game for the Intellivision that needs a sequel! Thunder Castle!Â
Thunder Castle - Intellivision Lives! (//http)
A game that I wish had a sequel is Venture. I think a much larger game could have been created as a sequel that even added new elements to the game. Heck, even enhanced graphics would be cool for a sequel.

This sort of
kind of actually does have sequels. Well, they don't take place in the same setting, but they're both made my Konami and feature very similar gameplay. Take a look sometime!
Mystic Warriors Arcade - 4 players Playthrough Part 1 (//http)
Wild West C.O.W. Boys of Moo Mesa (Arcade) - Full Game (//http)
As for me? Hmm... let me think.
Wild Guns needs one for sure. An amazing evolution of
Cabal with an amazing setting and even better music. Too bad Natsume is stuck making Harvest Moon games for all eternity.
I know this one is going to sound odd but I would of liked seeing another Friday the 13th. Being a big fan of horror movies and knowing how many horror fans are out there I'm surprised this one never got a sequel. I know there wasn't a lot of fans of the Nes version but there's some much they could do with that game.

With so many parts for that franchise, it is indeed surprising that there weren't any more games based on the movies.Â

Exactly, it's actually quite unbelievable. I would of liked to see the game as you playing as Jason. Something different for a changeÂ
How about Jason vs Freddy! Like the movie!
I didn't even think of that one, awesome idea! Also would of liked to seen a sequel to the Atati 2600 Halloween game. I liked the atari one but again, I believe another missed opportunity.
There's a homebrew being developed that mixes several of these franchises. It'll be interesting to see how it looks when done.Â
Yes, I've seen that and im very excited about it. If I remember correctly it's called Legends for the Atari 2600.

Yep, that's it. Haven't seen any updates about it recently, though.
I haven't seen any updates on it either. I just hope they follow through with it. Would be a great game for horror fans like myself.
I guess we just have to wait. Perhaps closer to Halloween we'll hear that it is ready for release.Â
I hope your right! That would be a nice "treat"Â
A sequel to this baby . . .
S.T.U.N. Runner - Arcade (//http)
And another wonderful game by Atari . . .

You know, it is indeed surprising that STUN Runner didn't get a sequel. It is a fantastic game and it sure lent itself to a sequel.
Jersey Devil for PS1
Shenmue (3)
Headhunter (For Dreamcast - Personally I thought redemption for PS2 and Xbox was AWFUL)
GreenDog (MegaDrive)
