That's pretty cool, sounds great! If I didn't have the original SGM I would think about getting one but I'll stick with the one I have.

I was thinking about that.  Folks who already have the SGM cannot be entirely happy about this.

Yeah, I read all the posts in the announcement thread on AA and there were a couple minor complaints but for the most part everybody seems pretty happy about it. I've had mine for a while now so I'm okay with it but for people who just got one I could see them being a little upset.

Wow I don't have a Coleco but that youtube clip makes me want one even more. I guess the sounds are built into the expansion cartridge an play instead of the original sound/tune?

Looking at the website I didn't realise how much "Homebrew"/New games had been released on the Coleco.

QuoteSega SG-1000 was also built up around Z80, same resolution, same Video processor, 1K RAM, 16K VRAM and even the sound chip was the same as ColecoVision.
So games from ColecoVision and Sega SG-1000 was very similar and easy to convert.
But also games from MSX1 are close in its structure, same CPU, same Video processor, but the first MSX standard changed the sound chip to AY-3-8910.
It was MicroSoft in Japan who starting up this MSX standard.
Wow I love learning new stuff.

Yes, the ColecoVision has had tons of homebrews releases.  Very active developers for the system and Opcode Games certainly has been making quality stuff for the system.
