Title: The RetroEngine Sigma
Post by: TrekMD on November 26, 2016, 20:44:28 PM
I just learned of this new minisystem coming to Kickstarter in the near future called the RetroEngine Sigma.  This system is capable of emulating a number of different systems and uses just about any USB controller available.  Have a look at the video below...

This is a retropie in a megadrive shell, that front end is the ES Emulation station pi front end, I have a raspberry PI3 MODEL b quad core unit with all of this stuff installed on a 32gb micros as well as a 128gb with over 10,000 games runing under a attract mode hyper spin front end which is mind blowing, as well as a full WHDLOAD amiga self booting setup as well bring the Amiga complete to the platform, still looking into how to get the cd32 ruing probably. Plus I managed to get the ST ruing now with hundreds of games,  but both require a keyboard and mouse considering the were home computer requiring these inputs.

To be honest this is a cash in and the price will have to content will the $40 dollar price tag of a PI3 and a 32gb microSD for about 10 buck,  and retropie is completely free as it comes with 28 emulators pre-installed from the get go other requiring roms you own to be added, secondly it's WiFi and blue tooth , so you can do wireless file transfer and can use all USB and Bluetooth controllers including a ps3 one. So I'm very interested to see how these will do as I'm sure there is already one of these type devices out there already..

I can recommend one of these?  HELL YA they are super awesome !! You can inlude video shades to simulate the old crt screens including moire effect with scan lining making all games very authentic on your HD TV. .plus there are zero frame rate issues, other than on the N64 on a set of the games due to CPU cycles the emulation needs to run,  but the likes of the ps1 and the rest are simply insane that this box the size of a pack of cigarettes can run all of these machine in one place..but I can see this coming in different variants in CPU size, memory size to justify the price, there is a ton of videos online providing everything you need to know about getting a Retopie up and running and having this for a fraction of the cost.

Cool.  It does look like a nifty device and I do believe they plan to price it around $50, so it doesn't seem to be out of place based on what you said.

Then it's a serious bargin. It's great to have it all set up, but I'm wondering how easy will it be to add your own games, as these thing run of a microSD setup, so it might be full, if they've included games which I don't think they can or are allowed to do, so it will require some understanding from the user. I do like the MegaDrive shell housing.

Remarkably close the MD mark 1 mold!

Decent for the price, but i have a Shield TV so no other needs for an emulation machine, but bloody Nintendo put stop to nvidia updating the shield range grrr!

That's very cheap and already a success.

Yeah, I don't need one either but it's a great price.
