Title: Site Supporter/Donations

Hi all,.

So - here starts the new and ongoing donation drive (sorry if i sound a little off - I hate the begging for money part of the site). However you are not obliged to donate because of this - it is your choice

I am trying to simplify the whole process and offer extra to those that donate. Please read on.

A donation is now valid for 12 months from the date of donation.

The minimum donation £10. Previously it was £5. The reason for this is because MOST donations were £10 or above, and personally I don't think £10 per year is excessive (less than £1 per month).

I would like to extend my thanks to all those that already donate it means a lot and part of the reason we keep going - Many thanks!

If you wish to make more than one donation per year, feel free! Your "site supporter" status will be extended to 12 months from the date of your most recent donation! Think of it as "topping up" to a year...

The Admins and Moderators do their role on here free of charge, and i would like to thank every single one of them for supporting the site and helping out - Thanks guys - this place wouldn't be what is it without your support

Any questions please feel free, and i will answer below.

Many thanks for your help and support over the past year.

So you Subscribe via you profile (Paid Subscriptions) or direct on this link. http://www.retrovideogamer.co.uk/index. ... scriptions (http://www.retrovideogamer.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;area=subscriptions)

What do you get, well Site Supporters will be offered the below additions.

Site Supporter Benefits

1000 pm's (not 500)
Unlimited amount you send at once.
A new section that will closed to the open forum.
Exclusive competitions (a few live now)
Custom profile pic (Site Supporter)
2 Signatures (Everyone will be reset to 1)
Advertise here on RVG.

We reserve the right to amend these benefits at anytime, fact is that change will more likely be additions rather that stuff removed.

Very fair and I'm sure people will completely benefit from this at later stages of development that are planned for RVG in the near future. I myself have a few things I will be offering to those exclusively as RVG Supporters in helping us give something tangible to those who support us here at RVG.

Are you working on a custom banner or title of some sort that tells people who the supporters are? Would be nice to see who they are :)

It's that time again that I need to ask for some help. The site supporter idea has not yielded enough to sustain the yearly fees. Going to look at making some amendments to it over the next few weeks but in the meantime and support in terms of small donations is welcomed.

Thanks and sorry to ask again.

Sorry to bump this but I have been slack and allowed a few months to jump by without making payments so any help is very much welcomed. Thanks all.

How do I donate? Iirc there was a tab last time.
Wasn't it a Paypal address? If so, what was it?

There used to be a link on the frontpage but, since the frontpage is different, that button is not there.

Is that the pp address or do we email and get instructions?
Title: Re: Site Supporter/Donations
Post by: Saturn on October 08, 2016, 09:50:46 AM
I used it in Paypal. I think that's what I'd done last time as pp converted it for me on the fly. (thought that was odd)
Will wait for zapiy to verify.

Always a bit awkward to ask for funds. The subscription link didn't work for me. Still, I help where I can. Obviously, I don't get on here much these days but now the Doctors are talking in terms of years in stead of months, I hope to visit a little more frequently.

Thanks, I won't hog the topic but January 19th 2017 I had a "Right Extended Pleurectomy Decortication with Diaphramatic and Pericardial Patches for Mesothelioma". I'm sure Trek understands that one 😉 As you can imagine, life will never be the same but I am going to enjoy it 🍾😬

No, but I am making very good progress and it was far better, in my opinion, to have the op than leave the Mesothelioma to slowly kill me. It is incurable and will return but at least now I do have some time. One woman on the Macmillan forum had her EPD some eight years ago which is well over the projected survival rates. I guess it is all about acceptance but then having the tenacity to say ok, you win, just not today sunshine, not today!

I'll say no more 😉
