Fell off my chair when I seen this pop up this evening, upon peering over the top of my desktop, watch this unravel and thought WoW! What show stopper and so unexpected for such a film to appear out of the blue considering they have only just released Bedroom to billions :)

Very good! Well put together trailer...
I take it the bedrooms film has no (or little Amiga stuff in it so they held it back for this!?)
I agree Viva is so close now, last i heard they were waiting on the 3d rendering stuff, but that was completed last month so if all goes well will be out pretty soon, and now this, great times for Amiga film fans!
I wonder how much will be footage taken from interviews they didn't use in the last documentary.
Yes, I've seen bedroom to billions and barely any mention of the 16-bits in the film Amiga or ST which were a major gap IMO not to be discussed in depth like the other platforms, so I'd say this was purposely done during the making of bedroom as future proofing for another film , must of been a ton of stuff they didn't include, but from the trailer I seen a lot of repeated footage that I know has been remastered for inclusion in the Viva Amiga movie.
So I reckon this will fill in the gaps from this side of the pond, as I hoping that all Amiga variants will be included here and that includes CD32.
Either way its all good, but if they think they're gonna get £50 for it on DVD or Bluray, well they have to rethink that oneÂ
I remember them filming it back around 2011 when they were interviewing a few people at a retro event. Crazy to think it only came out recently!
Very true, sure they Interviewed Ian Lee and he didn't even appeared in either that extras or the main film, he was that good. I just hope Viva Amiga takes flight sooner than later, as this was the original Amiga documentary that was the definitive movie on the machine and now this whipper snapper shows up.
I think they have this done much quicker than bedrooms took to make they must have a ton of footage ready to go.
Wasn't that Kickstarted 4 or 5 years ago? Not much chance of it appearing before this.
No fella, 2013 it was funded and only took another indigo kickstarter to get it finished late last year, so you must be stuck in some sort of Timewarp that's keeps looping lol.
I estimate that this will be out September/November 2015 or Jan 2016. What can they add? They'll take to UK devs they've already talked with and show gameplay footage etc. they need to get serious exclusive stuff in this, something people haven't heard or read before about the Amiga, I know of lots that could be added if they were to really do the Amiga in Europe justice. There is a stack of folk who could make this so interesting. I'm sure for a start they'll talk to system 3 about the process of the Amiga version of Putty Squad that came out last year etc.
I just looked at it's Kickstarter page. States it was funded Apr 26 2011 - Jul 21 2011 (86 days):

Comments are dated that far back as wellÂ

Sorry fella , I thought you were talking about bedroom to billions?, yes Viva Amiga has been in devolpment for like 4 years, I helped do the promotional material, personnelly I don't know why it has taken so long even with Paul Kitching involvement doing a ton of 3D renders to feature in the film. Its creator Zach is promising to deliver the penultimate Amiga movie and hope he does after backing it with the $100 tier at the time, I'm very surprised that people are not demanding their money back at this stage.
It must be the case that people are so eager to see this as it will be their story or nostiegic train ride they hope to take time and time again with this film, but as I mentioned there is so much yet to be told and covered on the Amiga, the homebrew scene, mods, even magazine production , but I doubt any of this will feature anytime soon.
Wow what great news. As GF mentioned the Bedrooms to Billions video kind of misses the whole Amiga and ST scene completely. This will certainly fill that gap.
I have to wonder if that was an intentional omission to get this second movie done.Â
Do bears shit in the woods lol?
I dont blame them though and i would prefer a full blown movie like this rather than 10 mins in the other film.

I don 't know. Do they?Â
I should bloody hope so lol..

Latest Update
QuoteHi all,
Well today we smashed through the 2nd stretch goal, so now every backer will receive the 4 stretch goal postcard set, so thank you so much for this!
At time of writing we are just over £4k away from our third stretch goal where we will add an extra 30mins of content to the project. Therefore to help us get there we are pleased to announce a simply incredible Sensible Software Amiga Bundle, where you will receive a boxed and working Amiga A500 computer signed by Sensible Software's Jon Hare, Chris Chapman and Stoo Cambridge along with signed boxed copies of 'Mega Lo Mania' and 'Sensible Soccer', 'Cannon Fodder' and Sensible World of Football' plus 1 x high quality glossy A2 posters for each game, plus a 4 x 'Keep it Sensible!' postcard set, again all items signed by Jon, Chris and Stoo. And there's only 3 available!
In addition we have now added the 'Stay Sensible' postcard collection to all the other Amiga legends collection (see below) so for just £10 (unsigned) or £40 (signed) you can have a set of these fantastic postcards and also help drive us towards our next stretch goal. As we said yesterday to get them simply increase your pledge by either £10 (unsigned) or £40 (signed) and then send us a quick message stating which postcard set you have gone for...and yes you can have more than one as it all helps towards the overall target and more content! Please note if you are a digital customer please add an additional £2 for postage and packaging.
We only have 10 days left so (and we know you have been!) please share and talk about this project wherever you can. It is the 30th anniversary of the Amiga, we know there are more than 1,400 Amiga fans out there, it is a major and important time in the history of the worldwide games industry and we want to mark and celebrate that by doing our best work ever and make something we can all be proud of (as we have all contributed towards it) and make as much contact as possible so we need your help to share and spread the word wherever possible, link as follows; http://t.co/kMrIEiiMU2 (http://t.co/kMrIEiiMU2)
And finally (and we are trying to make these newsletters sound different each day we promise!) thank you, each and every one of you, it's getting very exciting!
Best wishes,
Ant & Nic
I'm waiting for the ultra sonic mega blasting super duper alpha mk 2.0 hyper max extreme post card set myself.

I'm holding out till the last day before hopping on board, too much tat inbound, but I'm hating the tiny winy a6 (6x4) postcards plus the cheek in asking for additional p&p, considering the cost of perks, but seem people love this, I'm not one of them.

Great stuff pal

I like Tom's style of writing and his honest on the film, a refreshing change for once, no IGN paid off bias here.
Anyone watched this yet?
yes, and I have to say they've encapsulated the Amiga and its presence to this day fantastically, at no point did I feel it was dragged out or a bunch of talking heads for 2hrs. Highly recommend this to both Amiga fan and retro gaming enthusiast alike.
Might watch it this weekend and let you know my thoughts. Are you going to review it?
