I've been saying I was going to take some pictures for a couple years now, and I finally did!
First off is my Neo Geo CD collection which has gotten pretty big and I may actually go for a complete set. I have a couple more on the way, at which point I will be about 36 games short.

That's it for now, but I will add more later
That looks awesome! Glad you were able to take pictures of it!Â
ThanksÂ
This is a great collection mate. Some excellent games in there, Ghost Pilots being a firm favourite of mine.
In fact, most of those are to my taste.
36 more games for a full set. Are there any that will be difficult to get hold of?
Some collection you have there, I hope you manage to get the last missing few without it breaking the bank
Awesome stuff fella. How do you find the loading times on the games?Â
Thanks guys!
Out of the 36 I don't have there's only one that is really hard to find. They made a limited edition version of KOF 98 that came in some sort of a wooden box and I've only seen it pop up on ebay once in the past couple years. I bid on it but then it was pulled the next day so I'm assuming someone offered the seller a very large BIN price. Other than that there is about a half dozen that could break the bank a little, but the rest are fairly reasonable.
The load times for the most part aren't too bad. It's really only the KOF and Last Blade games that are really bad and require a bit of patience. Overall it's a great system to own, and much cheaper than the AES carts!
Very nice collection! I owned a CDZ around 2001, but was skint so played cdr games!
I might look into that then if they are not that bad, certainy the much cheaper option.
I didn't take pictures of my consoles but I have two top loaders, one Japanese and one American. I have thought about getting a CDZ though, and someday I probably will. If you're concerned about loading times but do want to get one, that would be a good option for you Zapiy.
Something to contemplate at least mate.
It is great seeing all of these Neo Geo CD titles. Thanks for sharing!
Okay, I'm finally updating my NG CD collection pictures. This is everything I have bought since the last pictures. I have one more on the way, at which point I will only be 12 games short of a complete collection :)
Looking good fella. Would love a collection like that.

Thanks

It's been a long process!
I am in absolute awe of this collection.

That really is a thing of beauty.
Congrats and good luck with the remaining ones!
Thanks! I've been working on it for close to 3 years now, but it's been fun
Mate, this a quality collection. Really cool.
Out of interest, do you have a shelf shot of these (i.e. with all the spines showing)?
Thanks! I don't, but I could take one pretty easily. They are all in a CD storage rack with the spines showing. Will add that soon

Time for more pics. First my latest NGCD purchases, which puts me at 90 out of 100!

Here's a picture of them all in a stand. I assume people wanted to see this so they could read the names off the spines, but unfortunately most of my games are Japanese so this probably won't help too much.

Also in the case is my very small TG16 / PCE collection.

Since you can't read the names on the games I also took pictures of my checklist that I have been going off of. Yep, no fancy spreadsheet for me. Just a printout from the Neo Geo forums and a highlighter. This is everything in the case, minus a few duplicates and homebrew titles.

Getting closer
That's some collection pal.. dedicationÂ
That is Legendary :113:
That's a great collection...私は棘上の名前を読み取ることができない場合であっても!
Thanks guys! Google translate is very handy Trek
Yes it is! So, you got what I posted?Â
Quote from: "TrekMD"Yes it is! So, you got what I posted? :)
Saturn summed this up nicely - Legendary!
I have never seen such a good collection of NeoGeo games. They were very pricey when the console hit the market and nothing came close for fighting games, not even the beloved Jaguar, in that genre.
Very impressive, the very best of luck tracking down the last titles.Â

Looks great mate! Not many to go now. The question is, looking at the space you've got left in that rack; is your PC Engine collection going to expand downward faster than the Neo Geo expands upward??!!
Love the analogue log keeping too. Who needs Excel!

The PCE games will have to be moved, which is good because then I will organize the Neo games too. Right now they're in no order and very hard to find a certain game!
Superb collection there! Not too far to go now
Okay, decided it was time I added some more pics of my collection. 3DO time!

These games mean the most to me out of all my collection. Just about all my other games and systems I had prior to the 3DO I sold at some point and I've been re-buying it all ever since. Probably about 80% of my 3DO games I bought new or used between 1994 and 1996 and I've never sold any of it.
At the bottom of the second pic is the Capcom Soldier controller in the original Japanese package, and the VERY RARE VCD adapter. I spent years looking for it! With it, the FMV in games is improved and it also allows you to play all the CDI movies.
Just an update on my NG CD collection, I have one game on it's way and then I will have 96 out of 100! I'll post an updated photo when it arrives :)
Awesome fella. I love the 3DO collection. One day I will post mine.

Thanks Zap, I'd like to see your 3DO collection :)
A serious collection pal, it really is..very cool as I remember having a good few myself back in 1994 :) I loved the 3DO, I really did, and only recently got the incredible 3DO emulator for android which is 99% perfect, I kid you not, it has played everything I've thrown at it full speed, full frame rate fantastic stuff.
Upon looking at your wonderful collection I noticed you didn't have two of the best games ever released for the 3DO, Electronic Art's "Need for Speed" made in your homeland or the fantastic "Return Fire" these are unmissable on the 3DO, see if you get these, they are brilliant.
Tx for sharing the wonderful photos ;)
Thanks Greyfox, as a fellow 3DO fan I knew you would like the pics. I was never a fan of Need for Speed believe it or not, just felt too slow. Return Fire is a great game though, I rented it once or twice and enjoyed it a lot. I do need to pick it up at some point :)
That is one very nice collection!
Thank you :)
Cool 3DO collection! I like the boxes. Nice stuff you have there.
I bought the system at the time just for Super SF2 Turbo, and then discovered a lot of other fun games. At the end of the system life many games were going for $9.99 or less at Walmart here and I picked more of them up. The original controllers were about $42USD at the store and seemed so expensive at that time. I always like the headphone audio jack on the controllers and used to use it to listen to music CDs.
-Alone in the Dark 1 & 2 were really fun and paved the way for Resident Evil series
-Return Fire and Battlesport are quite fun two player
-Star Control 2 is a lot of fun, and also has a fun two player battle mode. Look up Urquan Masters for a fan made PC/Mac conversion of this game.
-Total Eclipse
-Doom has the best sound track of any version I think, and although the frame rate is a bit choppy it's still very fun though
Fantastic collection Shadowrunner. I'm in awe (and jealous >:( )
Thanks guys for the top recommendations, too. Will have to give some of them a go. Unfortunately, my 3DO and its games disappeared so I'm a little lacking in that department atm. But, there's always 4DO (http://www.fourdo.com/downloads/) :D
Thanks guys :)
@arcadeaction I picked up a lot of games when they were clearing them out too and I always thought the headphone jack on the controller was a great idea! Since I got the collection out I have the itch for new games and I've bought a few, but Alone in the Dark 1, Return Fire, and Doom are all on my wanted list.
@Saturn That really sucks about your 3DO and games! At least the emulation has gotten a lot better.
Okay, I finally took an updated pic of my Neo Geo CD collection!
It's not the greatest quality picture but it was hard to get them all in one shot. This is 96 out of 100 official releases in alphabetical order except the three limited edition games at the bottom. Almost done :)
Absolutely amazing! 8)
Thank you, a lot of time and money has gone into it!
Fantabulous! Are you going for the four missing titles?
Thanks! I am but slowly. One of them is fairly common and I could get at any time but the other three are pretty rare and expensive so it could be a while before I find them at a price I like.
That's cool. Why not get the common game now then? You should be able to get it in very good condition now that it is still easy to find.
People seem to think it's rare and worth a lot but yet there's close to 10 copies up for sale on ebay at all times, all at really high prices. When I see a realistic price I'll grab a copy :)
Ah, so it is overpriced despite being common.
Great collection 8)
Thanks Ice, nice to see you around again :)
Wicked stuff mate, I love this collection you've got. Seeing all the CD cover art is ace, they look incredible.
Only 4 to go now then, I hope you achieve your goal.
Was Wind Jammers released on the CD system?
Thanks! Wind Jammers was released and I have the Japanese version which is called Flying Power Disc. It's next to World Heroes in the second last row :)
:^] Flying Power Disc sounds so literal. I wonder what the Japanese name its translated from is? I bet it still doesn't sound as cool as Wind Jammers. I think we've trumped the Japanese on a game title for once lol.
Are you getting much NEO GEO CD gaming action recently? What you playing?
For the amount of money I've spent on it I really should be playing it more than I do! When I took the last picture a few weeks ago I did spend a bit of time with it though. The original Samurai Shodown always gets some play and I also had a few races in Overtop. Also played some Sonic Wings 3 which is a lot of fun!

LOL I can say the same about some games that I own!
Samurai Shodown is ace, the scaling effect was unique at the time. It's another game series i'm crap at though. \i think the last one I played was Samurai Shodown Sen which looks great.
I'm not familiar with Overtop, I'll have to Google that one.
Get some Flying Power Disc on!
Wow, darn fine collection!

It's a really good top down racing game. Probably the best racing game on the system.

Thanks Cryptic :)
Thanks, Shadowrunner. Your entire collection is great. Really nice to see the Neo Geo CD get some spotlight time.
That's a super collection. I've always contemplated getting an NG CD but never quite jumped. I've always like the NGCD controller too - They always seem to connected to Sharp X68000's at events and the controller suits Shumps down to the ground (Ive got a couple of AES sticks for a supergun). I've got an MVS cab but having a gentle sit down on the sofa is sometime preferable to standing at a cab.
Thanks :) I like the controllers too. I have two of the CD pads and one of both the CD and AES sticks and they all work great.
Not retro, but I was showing off my Dark Souls collection on Twitter and figured I should post it here too.

Thanks!
