Now Ive been exploring a little I'm starting to find the few places local to me I can get games.... What are yours?
Cash Converters/Cash Generator - general second hand shops, the ones I have seem to stock retro stuff as they get it in and tend to price reasonably. To be honest if I see one of these, I normally go in and buy something lol
British Heart Foundation Home and Electrical - These have sprung up all over the UK and are very reasonably priced (I got my SNES and 4 games for £10), worth a visit if you see one but likely only to be selling complete systems rather than singular games, pads etc
Gamesave (local shop) - Cant believe I have walked past this shop and never visited, firstly it stocks a load of modern stuff. Secondly and more importantly its got the best selection of retro Ive seen so far. Its got games for the most popular consoles from around late 80's (MS/NES onwards) plus a healthy selection of Atari 2600 cartridges which I had never seen in the wild. Oh and some Jaguar carts!
So where do you shop in person?

This shop right here (//http) is about a 10 minute walk away from my house!
It's a great little independent games shop that stocks modern and retro, he also has an Aladdin's cave of a stockroom that really needs to be emptied! Last time I went in there to have a look I walked away with more stuff than I could carry!

Not 10 mins from house, but yeah this is my new find
(Does Games Workshop too which is pretty cool IMO)
You guys are lucky. There is nothing like that in Miami. The only store I know that has retro games in Miami is Lukie Games (//http) and they don't have a real store. You can only buy online from them and the prices that I see are crazy. They do have a physical location in Miami, just not a store. Courtesy of Google Maps...

There's only one game store that has retro games for sale where I live. They have lots of PS2, Xbox, GC era games, but only a small selection of games before then. What they do have seems a little pricey too but once in a while I find something at a decent price.
I'm sure I've bought from that Lukie games before, they have lots of stuff on ebay. Nice to see where it came fromÂ
Lovely place, isn't it?Â
I actually don't have a good local one, there is just a horrible chain called "Game On" that is overpriced and has barely any selection. I drive about 1 1/2 hours to Columbus, OH every now and again to hit up a store called Tech N Gamer. I know there was another poster I saw here from Cleveland, so if anyone lives in the vicinity of OH and is the Columbus area, it's worth checking out - http://www.techngamer.com/ (//http) The guy who owns it, Mike, is really nice, has reasonable prices, and also does console repair. He replaced the laser in my Megadrive CD a few years ago, and did a great job.Â
Outside of that, there are some really good sellers at a Flea Market I visit called Casesar's Creek, outside of Cincinnati, OH (which is a lot closer to where I live) - http://www.caesarcreek.com/ (//http)
Many years ago there was a great local game shop called The Trading Zone, where I bought my Saturn and Dreamcast games for the most part. They would stock almost every import release, so it was great for picking up the Saturn games we never got in the US.
There's one up the road from me in Dorset called "Warez".
Quite overpriced though in my opinion...then again they do need to pay out for rates and store rent which is why I get my retro games from Amazon etc.
I have been doing some research of late, hunting out some local retro shops and to my amazement i have discovered one where i would never have looked, will feedback my thoughts on this during the week as i plan to visit them.
