Well, that year. I had been begging for an Atari VCS since 1978, and a couple of years later, I got an Intellivision. I loved it, of course, but I never got that Atari. Consequently, my nostalgia-fueled obsessions--and to some extent, my social alliances--were henceforth set in stone.
By 1982, I had been spending an inordinate amount of time at my neighbor's house "playing with" (read: using) his C=64, and I think his parents lobbied my parents to get me my own darn computer!

I know! If it wasn't for my parents platform insensitivity, I could have turned into one of those icky dirty Atari VCS users! :O

Lol! I was just kidding, you know I love you all, you icky dirty Atari kids.

But seriously, it's funny how that works out: a completely random decision by your parents, brands you for life. I blame them.

Woot woot. I'm a C64. Not sure how i only just found this thread :)
Although I am currently stuck on the netherworld between the 8- and 16-bits of the Intellivision, my heart pumps blood of an 8-bit shade or red, and truly belongs to the C=64.
