Left Over Culture looks at Toxic Crusaders on the Sega Mega Drive!
Toxic Crusaders (Sega Genesis) - Leftover Culture Review (//http)[/align:i6hubzz4]
I have to say that I never heard of Toxic Crusaders until now. I guess this was meant to compete with Captain Planet at the time. The Genesis games looks pretty bright and colorful and, based on what he says, it seems to be an OK game. Has anyone else played this?

Never played it myself but would actually like to give it a try after seeing this video.
Seen as you mentioned Captain Planet . . . . .

Very cool. That looks nice. Turns out there is one for the Genesis/Mega Drive based on the good Captain as well!

I never knew about that game!Â
I decided to see if there was one after your post and, guess what? There was one!Â

Mod Plea - Could someone tell me how to embed youtube on this site, I never seem to manage it....
Fixed it for you, there is instructions on how to do this in several places on the forum - you just paste the link and make sure it says "http" and not "https" or it won'r embed, all you needed to do here was remove the "s"

Man, it amazes me how desperate Ocean seemed for licenses back then. See, they're basically taking a newspaper comic strip about some small child who continually annoys an old man... and that's pretty much the only joke.
(http://safr.kingfeatures.com/idn/ck2/content.php?file=aHR0cDovL3NhZnIua2luZ2ZlYXR1cmVzLmNvbS9EZW5uaXNUaGVNZW5hY2UvMjAxNC8wNC9EZW5uaXNfVGhlX01lbmFjZS4yMDE0MDQwM18zODUuZ2lm)
This is the strip that came out today, for reference. Somebody decided that they needed to make a movie out of the level of quality you're seeing here. And
then Ocean decided that said movie, based on said unfunny comic strip, needed a video game.
nd then they made a movie out of that... and then they made a game out of that.
On the subject of newspaper comic strips and games made out of them... here's something that's actually not bad!
Garfield: Caught in the Act(Genesis) - Playthrough [Part 1] (//http)
So this is Garfield: Caught in the Act, for the Genesis/Megadrive. I'll admit they took some heavy.
HEAVY liberties with the original strip, if you know what that's like... but to be fair, it makes for a much better video game. Great animation, too. I actually used to have the PC version, but I always got stuck on the horror stage, which, weirdly enough, is the first level of the Gen/MD version. Probably because the first boss has a really obtuse method of actually damaging him.
I like that Garfield one, that said I like Garfield a lot too :4:
(//http)
I have the Atari ST version of that Judge Dredd game, I like the hidden mini games on it - cool feature.
There is also a Mega Drive Judge Dredd game by Acclaim (that I also have), it's pretty average though:
Judge Dredd Sega Mega Drive Genesis Walkthrough 001 (//http)[/align:97ox7ey9]
Aye there's a few JD games, he's well suited for video games although its a pity most are side scrolling shooters. Always thought some sort of mystery future thriller ala Beneath a Steel Sky (which came with a comic in a reversal of this thread) would have been ideal to set in the world of Dredd?

I've always been a fan of Garfield, and cats in general so I picked up this game a while back. Got as far as the first boss you mention, and promptly got my ass handed to me! I really need to give it another chance one of these days. It does look really good though.
There are a few Garfield games for the home computers too, I have the first one of these on the Atari ST:
ATARI ST GARFIELD (//http)
GARFIELD'S WINTER TALE (AMIGA) (//http)
ATARI ST Operation Garfield 1992Brankin, D J PDa (//http)[/align:ff36drb8]
Garfield also made it to the 2600. Unfortunately, the game was never finished.

Thats pretty awesome, throwing flowerpots at the cat and it has Mrytle (?spelling?) in it too.
I own a prototype cartridge (repro). It is a cool game and it really would have been a great game had it been completed. The game was originally meant to have quite a number of screens for the player to take Garfield through.

A few c64 games I really like. They're games that aren't amazing but I love the setting and characters enough that an average game became superb fun.
Big Fat Hairy Deal on the C64 was pretty good fun. I loved the large sprites, animation and they way the game captured the strip so well.
Strontium Dog, a BASIC game, that has something of a Minter quality to it making it very engaging to play.

Another 2000AD game, Nemesis the Warlock. I loved this as a kid as I thought Nemesis was soooo cool. I've played it recently on CCS64 and I still got a kick out of playing it

Credo!

Two Wii games....
Lucky Luke on the Wii is pretty good fun if a little shallow
Lucky Luke: Go West! (//http)
Rogue Trooper: Quartz Zone Massacre. A PS2 release originally, I'm not sure how different, if at all, the Wii version is but it's a pretty decent 3rd person game.
Quite a few games there. They look nice too.
Back to Judge Dredd, this is the PS1 version - I vaguely remember playing a demo of this back in the day:
Judge Dredd (PS1) (//http)[/align:2dv79251]
No wonder you vaguely remember playing it..its a pile of Shite

, those god aweful badly animated "Reboot" CGI cartoon looking eniemies to ever inflict pain to the eyeballs in a game, how the hell did they get away with putting complete crap like this out there..one of PS1's darkest memories
How about a different comic book set of characters? Snoopy! Here is Snoopy and The Red Baron on the Atari 2600!

He was pretty big here and all 3 Dan Dare games were great, especially the 3rd one which has some amazing visuals.
Here is another game based on Snoopy. This time the game is for the NES: Snoopy's Silly Sports Spectacular!

Its basically Dynasty warriors with Transformers. Load of characters to unlock as well.
Speaking of G.I. Joe, the Atari 2600 version is very good and the arcade game is just flippin' awesome!!!Â

Yes you do!
Sadly not, would have made a brilliant Lynx or Mega CD game with all that scaling.

Either system would have been great. Hell, a Jaguar port would have been nice too.

I would have to say its either Maximum Carnage

Or Xmen 2 Clone Wars both for Mega Drive

Xmen 2 Clone Wars Part 1 (//http)
Both of those look pretty cool.
Both are VERY cool however both harken from the days when games were difficult to the point of being cruel. I managed to legitimately beat Carnage one day many years ago but it was pretty gruelling, but Xmen 2? Thats nigh on impossible without cheat codes lol... its INSANELY tough

Good to know!Â
Clone Wars is a very difficult game. Tried several times to complete it.
It's my second favourite X-Men game behind Mutant Apocalypse on the SNES, which is brilliant. Not that that's easy either but I did finish it.
My all time favourites would be the Spiderman games on PS1, I also like TMNT and the Batman games on Megadrive, as well as the X-Men Mutant Academy games on the PS1...ah the memories!
I've just finished a review on Spiderman for PS1 on my blog today...please have a look, comment & follow etc.Â

It'd be most appreciated.
