[align=center:3i1lc704]Darran has now made a video of the new Retro Gamer for those that don't have it yet:
Retro Gamer Issue 125 (//http)[/align:3i1lc704]
i just got my eBay lot of 3 issues, reading issue 103. Do all of the issues transport you back 30 years?
This one is all about Nov.1981 so far.

Yes, every issue has Back To The Eighties and Back To The NinetiesÂ
yep, I'm reading Back to the 90s February 1995 right now.
okay, I FINALLY got to Barnes and Nobles and got THIS issue last night:

Cool! They are very hard to find in Miami. The B&N closest to me don't carry the magazine. The third one, which is a fair distance, does get them but whenever I've been there to find an issue they look like they've been put through a shredder before they are put on the shelves. Really bad. So, I just get the digital issues and try to get physical issues when they have something I really, really like.Â
I am more than willing to post these to some of you guys but at your cost obviously..Â
Might be best if i got say 5 copies each time and post them to Trek who then sends them on via your internal postal service.. much like a drop shipper....

I have done this for Trek before, works out pretty expensive.
Its just as easy and probably cheaper to order them directly from Imagine Publishing, you can also get US subscriptions at a greatly reduced cost.
I bet it is as well fella.. Shame its so hit and miss over there.
I think it just depends on where you are here in the States. It was easy to find the magazine when I was in New Jersey. It's ok, I am fine reading the digital versions and just getting the print issue for something that I consider more special.Â

I just figured out what POST means (to mail) I keep forgetting my non-american english.
Okay, I read the entire and AWESOME Atari 8-Bit article. I always wanted to know more about those.
Also, I like the comparison spread of 2 pages of the different ports of the Paperboy arcade game to the home consoles, portables, and computers. I forgot how ugly some Apple IIe games were, and I was amazed how super ugly the NES version was.
What articles do y'all like the most of this issue?
Glad you liked my Atari 8-bit article!Â

you wrote it? I've always wanted an Atari Computer, but never had one until a yard sale much later, and that one didn't work. I used to dream of having an Atari 400, or 800,...or 1200...? ? ? decisions decisions. I like the look of the 400, but bigger numbers = better to a 12 y/o of that era.
I had to settle for TRS-80 CoCo and then Apple IIc and IIGS later. You should check-out my instagram stream where I shared snaps of the pages I read.

Yep. See the name? Kieren Hawken? That is meÂ

If you get an A8 the best model to get is probably the 800XL as it is 64k and has the best compatibility, although I personally prefer the looks of the XE machines.
I really REALLY want an XE, the gamer console. is it as good as the 800XL?

In the issue before this one I did a big article on the XE Games System:

But there are also the 65XE (64k) and 130XE (128k) computers, they look sexy as hell but the cartridge port is on the back, which is a bit annoying!

I think it's the big round buttons that are so sexy, imo.

Yep, how can you not love this:

So sexy! Except that joystick! I am surprised that they used it, instead of a 7800 controller.
I am one of those that think it looks like it was designed for young children.

I'm with you there.
It looks more like a design concept that would end up in the bin rather than go into production.
The asymmetric design, the over-sized buttons. The actual colour of the buttons.
The 2-tone joystick.Â

The gun is ok though!
I think it looks like CANDY, much like those iMACs with the translucent colorful monitor cases that we had at school 10 years ago.
Today I'm ready the article of the dude that made the game DEATH RACE (love the concept) and helped create EXIDY. I loved his game MOUSETRAP when I was a kid. I remember saving my allowance for several weeks to get that game for my Colecovision for $45, and then it was on sale for $40 which was even better.

I thought that was a fantastic interview, and he answered my question about Venture too. I would like to get him to do an interview for here!Â
I just think it's so exciting to hear from one of the fathers of videogaming that lived during that era, and made the games that I enjoyed. He saw it all first hand. I also find it interesting that there are so many games that were designed but NEVER released like his X+Y moving PONG game.
