The link doesn't work for me either.  That's because you're using a mobile link instead of the regular link.  I've fixed it with the desktop link.  Oh, and based on that price this belongs on the "take the piss" thread.   :21:

eBay has become a big show off playground. We assume these guys are dicks but I truly think they just like to put things on to get a reaction. There's a guy by me that puts his whole collection on, then after 2 days he pulls the plug. People have some funny ideas

I suppose that is possible because it doesn't make any sense otherwise.

It would appear that this game is indeed quite rare and that the carts sell for a lot of money.  The last one sold for $17,000 but I sure hope it was in better condition!  I just saw this posted over at NintendoAge:  Nintendo World Championships (NWC) 1990 "Mario Copy" Hits $90,000! (//http).  The damn thing is at $98,200.86 now!

Well, this ended at $99,902.00!!!  Someone needs to mortgage to pay this bid!

That has to be a new record for a video game sale. Can't believe it went for that much!

More like call the loony bin! Whoever bought that needs locking up and their sanity checking .... unless, of course, it was people have a bit of fun with the seller

At this rate it probably will get that high, with 7 days to go its already past what the last one sold for. This is just getting stupid, but then again I feel the same way when I see people paying absurd amounts of money for a signed Beatles album. You will always find rich collectors with too much money!

Wow, it's already surpassed the other one.  Given that this is the gold edition and it certainly is in better condition than the other one, I wouldn't be surprised if it indeed sold for $200,000.  As you say, someone will too much money!

Does anyone recall if that guy ever got paid for his complete nes collection on eBay?
I remember seeing a follow up story that said he hadn't been paid. Just wondered if the first one of these had been paid for.
I still can't believe these bids are real I'm sure of it.

Haven't seen any more information on the last one or whether it was paid for or not.

The interesting thing from the article is about the other carts on ebay...they are fakes!

Yeah I read that too about the others being fakes but the gold cart auction is still going. Wouldn't they pull the auction if they knew that?

Yes, Ebay certainly could.  I wonder if they've been notified.
