Title: 64bitRuss Game Collection Pictures
Post by: 64bitRuss on September 01, 2013, 18:51:05 PM
Since I just moved to a new apartment, I'm going to take new pictures of my gaming collection over time. I'll add pics once in awhile as I get to it. Today I have an Xbox game, and my Jaguar/CD games.

Hello friends! Today I am adding my Sega items in pictures. Sega is something in my collection that has never been prioritized over anything else, but admittedly after taking some pics and inventory, I am rather pleased with the games I have managed to acquire over the years. Most of the items are complete and in excellent to near mint condition as well. So, here we go, see anything you like?

First, here is my Genesis, docked in a Sega Genesis plastic console holder, similar to the popular Atari 2600 versions. This is the only one I have ever seen, but that doesn't make it rare.

@ 64bitRuss:

Re: Your Sega Genesis that's "docked in a Sega Genesis plastic console holder",

Interesting. Never seen such a thing for Genesis before. Is it what videogame rental stores used when suppling Genesis consoles to their customers?

P.S. I'm impressed with the excellent condition of the boxes for your 32X and its games.  :1:

Thank you for the compliment. No, I don't believe it is any kind of rental unit. My guess is that it was probably a $20 peripheral available at a few department stores. As mentioned, I have 2 of the Atari 2600 versions, and I have seen a NES console holder before as well. There's nothing rather special about it other than it's not exactly common.

Ah, so a kind of case to try keeping the console, its controllers and a few games together in a tidy unit. To be slid beneath the TV when not in use so to keep the living room space tidy. Cheers.

Hello again! Today's pictures are my Atari 2600 collection. I have collected this longer than anything else, and spent less money on it than any other system. I have grown less and less enthused about my 2600 over the years, and overall I think the collection is just average. I have seriously considered just parting ways with it because at this point I do not have confidence that 2600 items will gain value enough to warrant just keeping this stuff on the shelf. It does take up quite a bit of my space for a system that I just don't play anymore.

That said, I do have some neato stuff:

Atari 2600: 2 original console organizers, the one on the left is a Sears Telegames center, and the right side is the Atari version. Very common items in the USA.

Very Nice!!!!

I like the Playstation long boxes.

I have the same problem with several systems. I do not play most of them much. Wonder if I should keep them, then looking at the newer games always makes me thankful for the labels and boxes of older game cartridges.

Thanks for sharing!!!!

Just took some more pictures. Continuing with ATARI on this update, with the 5200 and 7800. I would love to start getting CIB 5200 games to replace my loose carts. Some of the stuff I have is not in great condition, and some of the games are in near mint condition. Kind of all over the place, I need to put some work in on it.

Many to collect Here! (//http) and are quite reasonable, I myself would love to do a wall in this type of thing, but the wife would have a mickey fit!! , she doesn't appreciate art when she sees it lol.

A lot of the 1991 releases had them like Ninja Gaiden, Pac-Land, Block Out, Warbirds, Awesome Golf, STUN Runner, Hard Drivin', Turbo Sub and Scrapyard Dog.

So, I don't really know what direction to go with my collecting now. I've got a complete Jaguar collection, and need a few more boxed LYNX games to finish that one up to my satisfaction.

I once had a TG-16 and about 15 games, but I sold them years ago for a reason I can't remember. I miss having that, but there were things I didn't like about the console, namely the very short cable for the controller. I actually have the urge to also buy boxes for my loose SNES games, but that can be pricey itself for pure cosmetic purposes. I mean, I would have some very short term satisfaction from that endeavor, but at the same time, having all my Jaguar games CIB is very self-gratifying and feels great when I look at the Jaguar rack.

Sega-wise, I'm not opposed to going after the good Saturn games, but it is not really fiscally responsible to do so. It is comparable to buying NEO-GEO home cart games, which I used to foolishly do. So right now, the Saturn is a scratch from the to-do list unless I happen across alot of disposable income. Maybe it's time to hiatus the collecting, but that's hard to do. You always want to play something new, and the same with movies, you always want to watch something new. However that may be the best idea of all.

Have you considered an SNES?  From what I hear, it is a good system to collect for.

lol yeah trek, I already have a SNES. I said above I was considering buying boxes for my loose games. There are a couple of SNES games I would like to get that I don't have already, like Yoshi's Island, Space Megaforce and maybe Legend.

LOL  Read too fast.  Can you find just boxes for the loose carts?

Oh yeah man, there seems to be a big market for that thing on ebay. "SNES box only" is a search I follow on ebay, and there's a ton of results.

Interesting.  I've noticed something like that for the Genesis as well.

You can get controller extensions for the TurboGrafx, I have seen them on eBay before. That is a system I would like to get some more games for at some point.

I only need about 20 games to have a complete PAL set for the Saturn but they are all games that are so expensive I don't think I will ever own them, sad really  :20:
