WaterMelon have just opened up a Kickstarter to raise funds for a highly polished re-release on the PC, Linux, Mac, Xbox 360, and most importantly the Sega Dreamcast.

QuotePier Solar is a 16-bit RPG that tells the story of Hoston, a young botanist who is on a quest to save his father from a mysterious illness. Along with his two best friends Alina and Edessot, the three friends embark on a quest seeking a rare herb to cure the illness of Hoston's father. Little do they know, it is the beginning of a winding journey that unravels his father's past and the mystery of Pier Solar and the Great Architects.
Pier Solar was originally designed and developed for the SEGA Mega Drive & SEGA Genesis. Yes, you read that right!! It was actually the only newly developed game for SEGA's 16-bit system in the new millennium. It's not a port, fan translation, or a copy of any other game. Pier Solar is a 100% brand new, entirely original,16-bit RPG.
I made my pledge for this yesterday. I have the Genesis/Mega Drive version but I couldn't resist another RPG for the Dreamcast and with the updated graphics this should really shine! Judging by how quickly the total is going up I'm sure they will easily meet their goal.
After only two days they are almost at the half way point to their goal. Is nobody else getting in on this? Where's all the Dreamcast love? I should add too that one of the members here ( 108 Stars ) does the graphics for this game.
I will be pledging also. Friday is payday and yes I fancy some DC action on this for sure.

Awesome! Just in case you or anyone else isn't clear how the payment works for these it goes through Amazon ( if you don't have an account you will have to create one ) and they don't bill you until the Kickstarter end date which in this case is December 5th.
Yeah done a couple before, be nice to get the DC game if i can.
fcuk me what's this? An RPG for DC?? AWESOME!!!! I shall definitely be watching out for this one
Yeah I really looking forward to this.
Sadly the pledges for this have really slowed down. It started out strong and looked really good but at the rate it's going now it wont make the goal. Spread the word if you canÂ
I will try, will add to our Facebook and tweet it.
I've linked it to my facebook and next time I do a new Dreamcast game vid I might mention it in my video
Just checked this and the total pledged went up by over $10,000 over night! They still need another $18,000 but they have 13 days left so it's looking better.Â
Well they officially met their goal yesterday so this will be going ahead. Looks like I got worried for nothing lol. Still a few days left if anybody wants to get in on it and they are supposed to be announcing some stretch goals today too.

Great news!
Very good news.
Now THIS is exactly the kind of thing i welcome Kickstarter for making happen.
Fantastic news goal was met, i'd much rather see projects like this, than money going to fund bloody professional voice actors in games.
Apologies for dredging up an old thread guys, I saw a recent update and thought I'd share:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/573261866/pier-solar-hd-an-rpg-for-xbox360-pc-mac-linux-and/posts/662840 (//http)
I'm going to email them and find out if I can pre-order or anything or if they can keep us informed of when pre-orders go up so I can get mine on DC... will let you know if I get any response
Another update and this one is all about the Dreamcast version.
They show the game being played on real hardware and it's looking incredible! They also showed one of the new mini games, it looked like a first person dungeon crawler being played on the VMU! I can't wait for thisÂ

You can watch the video here http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/573261866/pier-solar-hd-an-rpg-for-xbox360-pc-mac-linux-and/posts/683901 (//http)
Looks bloody fantastic, another DC game i must have.
As you may know, Pier Solar is about to be re-released for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. A new teaser video has been released...

Any update on the delayed 360 version?
I've not seen anything posted.
All of the versions have been delayed at this point and they haven't given a date yet. Hopefully soon!
Also just to be clear that latest video is of the HD versions of the game and not the Genesis/MD version. As for that version, they are still waiting on enough pre-orders to do another run so if anyone wants a copy and haven't ordered yet, best go to their site and do soÂ
Ok cool, on my phone ATM so will check their site later.....
Just re-reading my post and it might be a little confusing. What I meant to say was the Genesis/MD version was waiting for more pre-orders before another run was done. All other versions including the 360 have been delayed and no date given.
They show an availability date of March 25, 2014 when you try to preorder. Maybe that's the last day to preorder?
Looks like all their games have a date of March 25th so I'm assuming that's just a placeholder date. Hopefully we will get some more info when they do the interview.
Well, we're in March so the date isn't to far anymore. Hopefully, at the very least, we learn something more on that day.Â
Not to disappoint anyone SLIGHTLY, but I posted this on Dreamcast Talk not too long ago:
"Hey gang, so I pestered Water Melon on FB and got this message back regarding an ETA
Hello, Anthony! The ETA is April, we expect to have the official release by then. Thank you!"
Having said that, as its basically April already this probably doesn't come as much of a shock lol
That's is true.
New date is June 2014.
Quote from: "AirZonk"New date is June 2014.
Next month...at least it is not too far.

 Thanks.
All the Kickstarter backers have the option of getting their name in the credits.
Yep, I submitted my name a couple days agoÂ

I should also add this quote from an update they made about the due date:
Xbox 360 backers are probably wondering why there aren't any news about it. Well, our current license with Microsoft only allows us to publish on Xbox One, but for 360 it is still pretty much the same complications as the ones that everyone knows about. We didn't give up yet, but if a 360 release does happen, it will be after the main release of PSHD. So once we have a release date, I will send a survey to the 360 backers with an option to switch to their platform of choice. I'm not sure what the complications are but hopefully they get it all worked out for those who do want to play the game on their 360.
I'll be getting the Dreamcast version, but I hope they get the Xbox 360 version done. I would like to check that out as well.
It's finished :113:
There was also another email sent out from Watermellon which said that once the KS games have been shipped they will start selling the game on their website for those who didn't back it.
Excellent!
Fantastic news. I want a huge review guys lol. A special review.
