Yoshi. Yes he's nauseatingly cute, but he is my character of choice in MK games and I've always enjoyed his appearances in the Mario games and when he's starred in his very own games.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Nack the Weasel/Fang the Sniper, a particularly obscure Sonic character who's only made a few appearances.

Sonic and Tails are cool and all, but I just like this guy's style. Maybe it's because it's nice to fight a villian who's not Robotnik for once. Maybe it was because I like Triple Trouble a lot. I dunno.

Or, there's Larcen Tyler, from Eternal Champions. The game, I admit, could have been better, but it had some great character designs. Take Larcen, who's basically a mix of a mobster, Street Fighter's Vega, and Batman.

He doesn't save the enviroment, he doesn't have about ten voice clips repeated again and again, and he isn't a shill for crappy candy. Zool can suck it.
EDIT - I realize this are some pretty obscure picks. It's mostly me not trying to pick something really obvious like Mario or Sonic, and mostly trying not to pick somebody else has picked. I'll throw in something a little more mainstream, just so I don't look like a TOTAL hipster.

Ah, Crash Bandicoot. While he's hit a slump that seems to have no signs of recovering from, there's no denying he's full of personality. I'd say that out of all the games that have been advertised as 'interactive cartoons', the Crash games are some of the very few that really pull it off. He's charmingly goofy, in a way that's free from generic 'tude, and well...

Very cool! This whole Cosplay things seems to be a pretty big deal. In fact, I left this one out. This guy does this at all conventions and he appears as many different superheroes. Here he is dressed up as Arrow.
