Hi all! I'm sharing this from the Vectrex forums I frequent:
THE RULES:
1. On November 1, PLAY YOUR VECTREX.
2. Make a note of what game(s) you played. Your name will also be needed as part of the record for the International Play Your Vectrex Day wiki page (see end).
These two things are mandatory. Everything else are bonuses, should you feel like going to the trouble:
3. Keep a record of your game(s') score(s).
4. Take a photo and/or make a video of your score(s), your Vectrex/collection, even make a drawing or gif or something that is Vectrex-related if you want, even an audio recording of you playing (if a recorder is all you have), but this HAS to be done on this day. (This stuff can be turned in after November 1st, since the wiki page can be edited any day of the year, but at least do your playing/drawing/photos/whatever on this day.)
5. Send a link along to your YouTube channel or any other website you have (Facebook, Twitter) if you wish to promote it, just as long as whatever material on your website is work/family friendly (i. e. a PG-13 rating at worst).
The International Play Your Vectrex Day wiki page can be edited by anyone if they want to do it yourselves, an e-mail addy can be sent to Darrylb500 via either PM (along with any photos or anything else you wish to include), Darrylb500 can be contacted on Darrylb500's page (//http) on the wiki, or it can be posted on this thread (//http) over at Vectrex Forums. You can use just your first name, full name, or an internet handle for the page, just try to keep it in alphabetical order, whatever it is that you choose to do (although I'll be editing the page anyway as needed).
Darrylb500 also ask that any videos be linked to ONLY, NOT embedded onto the page, since he just wants a clean list without people having to scroll down with those making an untidy presentation. Any photos or drawings will be put in a separate gallery after the game listings (which is linked to at the end of this page). Any audio recordings will have to be put up on YouTube or some other hosting place since the Wikia company doesn't allow soundclips to be hosted on their wikis.
An accompanying video should be released somewhere between October 10-15 on YouTube.
Official wiki page where all this will happen/you can see how it looks as this comes along:

Sounds good!

I hope I have mine by then as well!
Nice idea, I will play my Vectrex that day for sure!
Hope you guys tell us your opinions of Warrior, personally I´m really curious about this game.

You can count on my writing a review for it once I receive it.Â
Nice!Â

I think George Pelonis is doing a great work porting obscure arcade games to the Vectrex, thanks to him I discovered Cinematronics and some interesting titles like Warrior.
Yes he is! Hopefully he will continue to make releases that include overlays in the future.Â
I just wanted to give this a bump as the date is getting closer as a reminder to everyone who has a Vectrex! Be sure to get ready to play on November 1st!Â
My Warrior cart still isn't here... I'm not optimistic about having it by November 1st.

Wow!! I forgot about this! I still need to register on vectorgaming...
Good thing I bumped it!Â

So if I read this right Trek MD is supplying a Vectrex to everyone who needs one to join in on November the 1st?

LOL
This is as close to "supplying" a Vectrex as it gets!

I just logged there, I'm going to eat something and I will take a look at the web, it looks interesting.
Luckily my brand new (so to speak) Vectrex is still in the living room, ever since it came home from CG Expo.
I'll be partaking on International Vectrex Day. But then again, almost every day is.

I only regret that I didn't buy new games in time. I only have 5.

I ended up getting a multicart as that was the best way to get all the games (I still do have several boxed ones that came with the system). I noticed there is one multicart on sale right now that is being advertised in AA.
I'm getting a Multi-cart in a deal with someone. However, we haven't done the deal yet. :/

Might want to check that thread then. It is going for 29.99 on sale (though I'm not sure if it is dollars or pounds - can't remember!).
November 1st is almost upon us! Get your Vectrex ready! Remember, it doesn't have to be playing a Vectrex necessarily. You can make art that is Vectrex-related and that counts.Â
Since I don't have a Vectrex the closest I can come to playing one tomorrow would be playing Vector Racing on my 3DS. It's kinda easy but still fun and I think it's available on IOS as well.

I believe there is a Vectrex emulator for iOS.
I played Minestorm and Star Trek just now.
It's here! It's now. I'm playing. Are you?
Just missed out on a Vectrex by a £1. £51 it sold for. Gutted.

By the way, if anyone decides to participate, feel free to post your pictures here and I'll have them linked to the Wiki. Thanks!
Can someone provide information on the game Star Trek, or a link to the instructions?
I've figured it out mostly, but ere is one button that I still don't know what it's for. It's #3, which seems to be some sort of auto-targeting, but I can't seem to hit on how it works.
Also, what are the different game varieties? They all seem the same to me!

Hey dZ, you should be able to find manuals here:Â Vectrex Manuals (//http)

I played my two most favorite games: Vector Pilot and Vectrexians.
Awesome photos Trek!!!!Â
I didn't take pics, but my kids played a few games... the only ones they liked were Clean Sweep and Spike.
I played one game of Star Castle and scored 7360. I need to practice.

Thanks TrekMD, invaluable help.
I got my answer: it's a shield! Good to know, for I keep getting killed and seem never able to go farther than Sector #2.

I hope to see you next year on November 1st playing your Vectrex and pics included!

BTW, I also like Clean Sweep.
Great pics Trek!!! I wanted to play the Vectrex but woke up on the 31st of October with no heat from the furnance. Spent the next couple of days and a few hundred dollars getting it fixed. Woke up today with 25 degree weather so it was worth it not to freeze. Sounds like some of you had a good day.

Thanks! You should take a look at the Wiki Page for the "event." There are several other pictures posted as well as scores.Â
Thanks for the heads up! I think Clean Sweep is my favorite but then I only have three carts so far. Minestorm really is very impressive for a pack in game.
Nice stack of carts!!!!Â

Cool! So, it's up to 21 participants.
That seem like quite a bit since this was short notice. Gives a good goal to beat for next year.
It's back! International Play Your Vectrex Day this coming November 1st, 2013! Check it out...

[align=center:2v47df1n]PRESS RELEASE[/align:2v47df1n]
Calling all gamers that indulge in a certain black and white console, it's the International Play Your Vectrex Day once more, slated for November 1st, marking the month of the debut of the Vectrex many years ago!
The rules are quite simple: one, play your Vectrex on November 1st, and two, submit either your name or nick, and you're all set! Various bonuses are also acceptable, such as taking one or more Vectrex-related photos, making drawings, etc. The (pretty simple) rules and regulations can be seen here:
http://vectrex.wikia.com/wiki/International_Play_Your_Vectrex_Day (//http)
Last year we had 24 "official" people play on this Day, along with several additional non-official players, plus one bonus Honorable mention spread out over at least six known countries. Let's see how we do this year!

What's the reason of the Warrior delay?? I thought Fury started sending them...
I won't be able to participate this year...

Too many projects at once, most likely. He sent an update saying that now that some of the projects are out of the way, Warrior, the YETI, and other stuff will start to get shipped again. I am eagerly waiting for several things myself!
Well, hope you receive the game soon to read a review!

He's a multitask guy!
Hey everyone! I wanted to revive this thread once more since Play Your Vectrex Day is almost here! If you own a Vectrex, join the "party" tomorrow by playing your system and capturing your score, pictures, etc and sharing them! Have a fantastic Play Your Vectrex Day!Â

I continue to patiently wait for mine as well.

Just played a little bit of Trakkers from the Vectopia multi-cart and posted my score on the wiki page.
I was just barely able to play a few games and posted it on the Wiki as well.Â
International Play Your Vectrex Day is coming, so get your Vectrex ready to play this Tuesday, November 1st! :)
Hi all, just wanted to remind everyone of what happens right after Halloween! It's International Play Your Vectrex Day! If you own a Vectrex, it'd be great if you participate! Here is the official announcement:
November 1st is coming, which, what does that mean to video game players? Are they going to play their Xbox? Their PlayStation? Their Switch? Heck no! They'll play their Vectrex, then report it to the Vectrex wiki (vectrex.wikia.com/wiki/International_Play_Your_Vectrex_Day) or to VectorX at the Vector gaming forums (vectorgaming.proboards.com/) as to what they played on that day so it can be shared with classic (vector) gamers around the world. See the wiki page for the rules.
(Ok, sure, you can play any of the other aforementioned consoles or any others if you wish on that day, but don't bother reporting it to the wiki!)
