That would be a great idea!  Just make it into a real Aliens game!  :)

Quote from: "TrekMD"We've listed some games that would benefit from hacks for issues with controllers.  It's amazing how poor programming for controlling a game can have a negative impact with the enjoying said game.

Indeed. Some games fail before you've even started.

Could maybe do the same for games like Contra and Turrican as well.

Here's a game that deserves to be hacked for some improvements:  Frogger on the Intellivision.  I know the Intellivision can produce better graphics for this game.  Also, the slowdown that happens on the game can probably be fixed.

I would love to hack Pit-Fighter to make all the enemies playable!

A game that needs some serious hacking is the Atari 5200 version of Congo Bongo.  Not only does it have two screens, the game falls short in the visuals and sound department as well.  The ColecoVision version is far better and a hack of this to look/play like that one would be welcome:

Here is an oldie but goodie that would benefit from a graphical hack, Dodge'Em.  This game is quite fun but the graphics are really dated.  I bet it could be made to look much nicer today...

I always liked Dodge'Em. It reminded me of Tron light cycles.

I can't program squat, but I'm sure someone could take that game and make it look better while keeping the exact gameplay.

Me either when it comes to programming. It sure would be nice if someone did an update.

I am still waiting for a hack of the Atari 2600 game Amidar, as I was reminded of it reading some of the other reviews.

I think it has been hacked but only to change sprites.

Edit:  Found one where it has been sped up:  Amidar DS

Great! That is one of the few complaints I have had about the game.

Thought not my own idea, I think this is definitely a good one...taking the Atari 7800's Desert Falcon and converting it into Zaxxon!  Seems like it would be doable.  <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)" title="Smiley" />

Zaxxon on the 7800 would be awesome  :113:

Every single Zelda clone based on the first game needs a laser sword when you're at full health. Golden Axe Warrior? Laser sword. Neutopia 1&2? Laser sword. It should be the easiest thing in the world to program, and it'll give even the most boring screens some dramatic tension...just like Zelda 1.

Speaking of laser swords, nearly every single game with a lightsaber needs to be hacked into allowing one hit kills - they're not whiffle bats.

Also, vs. mode on Double Dragon (NES) needs to allow you to fight someone besides your evil clone. And is it possible to lose the heart system, and begin with your entire moveset?
