Quote from: "Rogue Trooper"System 3 really were in the top 5 C64 developers.Always had a soft spot for C64 Myth, whilst the 16 Bit versions looked fantastic, was'nt quite so keen on some of the graphical changes System 3 made, to try and make it look more like a console game.

They were amazing weren't they? Glad to see they are still going, atleast in part :)

Quote from: "Tachi"Turrican 2 was amazing on the C64, not just for massive boss sprites but the fast shooter parts were beyond anything I had seen before.
Also, Myth: History in the Making had exceptional animation and sound (especially the echo effect on the Hydra level).
As for PS1, Omega Boost was breathtaking and PS2 has to be Shadow of the Colossus!

I think Myth was pretty incredible on the Spectrum too:

Obviously not a patch on the C64 but damn that is impressive for a Spectrum game, I love how clear the sprites are and the Hydra is brilliantly rendered!

Don't get me wrong, we didn't dress up in robes, light incense and chant the pokemon tune to prepare ourselves spiritually for it, we simply recorded it and watched it after work each week.

Quote from: "Tachi"I have all the Road Rashes purely out of nostalgia, never been a huge fan of them.
What I would like to see a reimagening/rehash of though is Paradroid. I loved the game as well as Machine Hunter which always seemed so similar to me and the idea of having the ability to hack and control droids to gain further access into secure areas would work well as an XBL/PSN game i think, kind of on the lines of the old Activision game Hacker.

Although i had a copy (it was in with the superb, DEFCON, still have both sat here, but NO PC), was UPLINK anything like a more modern day 'take' on Hacker?.

Loved Paradroid on C64, had the 'enhanced' ver. which game on the double pack.Never saw a copy of the budget, 'Heavy Metal' edition but loved Paradroid'90 on ST/Amiga.

Did own Magnatron on C64 as well, never quite appealed as much as Paradroid did though.

I bought Uplink from HMV who were one of the few stockists of it in the highstreet and frankly I couldn't make heads or tails of it lol

Blood II: The Chosen (PC)

I absolutely adore that game!
My friend Keith and I used to do LAN MP where one would use an item that grants invisibility and run to hide and the other had to find them. Was such a laugh after copies amounts of alcohol.

I am mid way through the game again now so yeah, it holds well.
Graphically it isn't amazing but the dungeons are well designed, there is masses of hidden things to find and monsters to kill :)

Dude I love Pokemon lol
Pokemon Snap was amazing and the wife and I used to watch the show religiously!
Now we just play the games but I still think it, as a franchise, has had more longevity than 99% of other 'fads' of the last 20 years or so.

Put simply, I never understood why this game gets so little love?
Along with such games as Phantasy Star IV and Starflight it is certainly one of my favourite Megadrive games!
The story is simple. During the defence of Duke Barrick's Castle from marauding armies of Goblins and other such miscreants a vast portal opens above the city and tears it into another dimension. The city finds itself in a valley surrounded by insurmountable cliffs and beneath the baleful eye of an eternally shining Sun.
So 4 adventurers are chosen to explore this new world to try and find an answer to their predicament.

Now I agree the story is lacking certainly but the gameplay more than made up for this. With it's mix of combat styles (that being Gold Box turn-based style when in the field and Eye of the Beholder style when in dungeons) and a multitude of lands to explore the game was, in my most humble of opinions, fantastic.

Any other lovers of the game out there?

Jebus! I remember the C64 version being much better than that!
Spectrum clearly wins on basic sprite look and Amstrad on colour pallet but C64 on speed so it's a weird mixed bag really.
For me it'd probably go to Spectrum ultimately!
Love Final Fight though, my original and favourite side scroller beat'em'up and would take it any day over Streets of Rage etc.
