Title: New Atari 2600 Hack - Crazy Kong
Post by: TrekMD on March 30, 2014, 20:06:08 PM
AA user CDS Games has created a hack of Coleco's Donkey Kong to create Crazy Kong for the Atari 2600.  If you've never seen Crazy Kong before, you can check information about the original game here:  Strategy Wiki - Crazy Kong (//http).

So, what has been changed from Coleco's DK?
- Color scheme
- New sounds & music
- Minor graphics modification (probably unnecessary) of Kong
- Firefoxes changed to fireballs
- Decreased jump hang time slightly[/align:1ul30ipd]

CDS Games is also working on a version with increased speed for the barrels and fireballs, unfortunately it is buggy and the screen rolls. The extra speed does seem to add a new dimension to game play and make you come up with new strategies.

Binaries can be found attached below.

It plays like the original game pretty much but has the visual changes.  It's a nice hack and the jump change does mean you have to be more careful.Â
