Cool! I bought Zero 5 earlier this year but I'm absolutely terrible at it! It's one of the best looking games on the system but very difficult :)

You're welcome Shadowrunner :113:

Found some hints for Alien Versus Predator at this page:

It's one of those "preserved" sites as the original is long gone. Re-posting here in case it disappears..

QuoteAlien Vs Predator â€" Hints and Tips from the Author!

The best way to play AvP is as a game of stealth rather than rushing around blasting everything in sight!

A little known fact is that the Aliens have acute hearing and the Predators use and carry hi-tech tracking equipment. What this means is that if you go rushing around corridors making a lot of noise the Aliens will hear you and head for your location and the Predators will have a better opportunity to get a tracking lock on you.

In AvP every creature is active ALL the time looking for you. The trick is to blend into the background and not make them aware of you until it is too late for them!

If you are spotted by an Alien, if he has a chance to come into contact with others of his species he will in fact convey the information to others of the pack. The “one that got away” is likely to round up a pack to come and get you!

Sometimes you will see a lurking Alien that “acts dumb” in front of you, sometimes they stall for time and keep you on the hook until reinforcements arrive!

There are over 128 separate pack hunting strategies that the Aliens employ, with practice you can learn their moves.

Beware of an Alien that leads you away down a corridor and into a room, it may well be an ambush!

Aliens can’t close doors so you can save yourself a lot of grief closing doors behind you, although they can get between sections in the ducts this still compartmentalises them significantly.

Pick the aliens off one by one before they have chance to report back to the group or get you into serious trouble.

Those jail cells at the beginning of the game do have a use, you can lure aliens and even Predators into them and start to fill up cells with creatures to kill later when ammo permits. Its even possible to have whole packs of aliens rush into these cells!

Don’t try and memorise the start location of the primary alien pack and the scouts, I randomise that at the start of every game, so gameplay experience is always fresh!

Those computer screens do have a lot of information and hints, take the time to read them!

Contrary to popular belief I’m not the marine, its actually Sean Patton, one of the Atari testers in a full suit from “Aliens” and scanned.

The noise of the alien “screams and whails” comes from modified baby whailing, courtesy of tester Ted Taquechi’s new-born baby daughter (rather than whails of anguish from the beta testers!)

When playing as the Predator use invisibility for scouting and not for killing, you will not gain honour points if you kill whilst invisible as it is not in the Predators code of hunting ethics!

When picking off marines as either a Predator or Alien it’s wise to remember that the marines panic under stress and do silly things. My favourite example of this is the barrel room, luring a group of soldiers into the barrel room and making yourself visible is a sure fire way of having the marines blow up all the barrels in the room and themselves in the process. Light the touch paper, stand back and watch those barrels explode!

The marines operate by having a main force that responds to all emergencies and leaving sentries at strategic locations.

It is unwise to pick a fight with the main group or the scout packs, start your fights with the sentries left at doorways and strategic locations. Not only does this mean that you don’t have to fight the whole pack but every sentry you kill has to be replaced thus diminishing the main group that is looking for you!

As a Predator it is good to goad and panic the marines with regular appearances and disappearances as the marines will start to panic more and more as fear sets in! This panic leads to mistakes.

The Predator really is a war of attrition, just keep picking those marines off slowly and steadily and no sudden blazes of glory. This guy is a skilled cunning hunter and his weapons are aimed at cunning behaviour, use them wisely!

When killing off the Alien queen the trick is to keep moving as she takes her while to respond!

It is actually possible to lure the Alien queen out of her lair and into the corridor where she is an easier target, but I will leave it to you to find out how!

I didn't know the game was this intelligent. Makes me want to replay right now and NOT go in gunning everything in sight

And here's the link to TrekMD's pdf of the maps:

Edit:
I accidentally found Scott Bigham's old page here:

It has all the maps in the pdf plus more with the locations of the security cards and a lot of other stuff.

Cool.  Always nice to preserve stuff like this.  :)
