Wow I am really impressed by that VIC-20 version!!! :35:

Quote from: "The Laird"I still have no idea why the 5200 version is so different to the Atari 8-bit computer version! :35:

I have often wondered the same thing. The Atari 8-bit version is very close to the arcade. The 5200 version mixes the simulated vector graphics with raster and it just looks wrong.

My folks got me Battlezone with the 2600, man mates and i loved that game.Had no idea of it's wireframe origin, just that it played like a champ (and had those cool comic strip adverts in Eagle magazine etc).Robot tank said to be even better, but never saw it anywhere.

Apple II version looks too slow for my liking.

5200 version is just plan odd.wtf is on with the small playfield? done to keep speed up or what?.

Lynx version was last ever Lynx game i bought, very much enjoyed, but never found the cheat to unlock the 'filled-in 3D version'. :-(

ATARI 800 version seems damn impressive.

C64 version seems to run lot faster than i'd expect (emulator time here i wonder). There was a clone on C64 i seem to recal, Artic Fox? never tried, just sprang to mind.

Since the above? i loved Pandemic's PC reboot on PC+sequel and always wanted to try the N64 version.

You still don't have the cheat?

Oh wow. Well, it is a totally different game and it is excellent! I can't believe there are no videos of it on You Tube!

There might well be some...i'm just useless at finding them.

I can't seem to find any either, so perhaps none exist on YT.

Dunno why but i always assumed the solid 3D version was just the original wireframe version, but done in solid/filled in 3D this time around. How wrong could i be!.

Sounds like it's a huge and rather complex reboot, which playtesters struggled to get their heads around (but surely a training level or set of instructions could have resolved this?).

And EDGE...come on, man you muppets claimed it was a very complex cheat to get working when it's just a few button presses at right time on right screen? i fecking hate media that bullshits you like games media does.Had i known just how 'easy' cheat was to pull off and how different the game was, i'd have kept the game back at least.

Gutted to read of this tonight.
