Christmas holds many fond gaming memories for myself as I'm sure it does for many others. So, what are you all going to be playing over the festive period? And what are your favourite gaming recollections of years past?

For me, there are a few main consoles that lead me through Christmas over various years - the BBC Master, Sega Mega Drive, Sega Saturn and Nintendo 64. The various PCs I've owned have also been trusty stalwarts through many a festive period.

Some classics of yesteryear for me? For sure, these feature most prominently: Chuckie Egg (BBC), Repton 3 (BBC), Stryker's Run (BBC), Imogen (BBC), Sonic (SMD), Alex Kidd in Miracle World (SMS), Mega Bomberman (SMD), Christmas NiGHTS (Saturn), Last Bronx (Saturn), Zelda: OoT (N64).

This year I'll be busy as my girlfriend will be joining us, but I'm trying to get some gaming in before then! So far, I've started out on the Beeb with the aforementioned Chuckie Egg and Mr. Ee featuring fairly heavily, and I've also had some time in with my PS2, including NHL2k5 and The Red Star. I'll probably update as I go along.

Happy holidays, all!

Some of my most memorable moments playing games at Christmas would have to be the year the Dreamcast came out.  Sonic Adventure had Christmas trees added and Blue Stinger had some holiday music and if I remember correctly you could outfit the one character in a santa suit. Good times!

I think 1989 when my parents got me the Amiga 500 Batman pack that i still own to this day.

Opening it was just a complete shock, i can remember playing it for the whole day.......................week lol.

I have more or less had a new system every Christmas since, i guess this year is no different as i am getting a PS Vita..Can not wait for some Uncharted action.

Don't really have any Christmas-specific gaming memories except for PC Xmas Time.

But I recently played Daze Before Christmas, a bit of James Pond 2, Fire & Ice, Holiday Lemmings....

Over Christmas I will be going to back Hitman Absolution I think and whatever Mrs Tachi has bought me 🙂
And a non-game related memory is of 1985, sneaking into the bathroom with my  biggest present at 4am (knowing it to be Jetfire) to open it and my Mother coming in to tell me to get back to bed only to find my Grandmother also in there too excited to wait til morning to open her present :)

Christmas, for me, involves getting a lot of new consoles. Some which I can say were definately worth it, like the PS2 and the Nintendo 64. Others, in retrospect, not nearly as much, like, say, the original XBOX. Otherwise known as "that box thingy that makes Halo go". These days, however, I can't say I'm really big on going all out every year anymore. All I really want is a cash card and a break from school. ...Man, getting older sucks.

Also, when it comes to Christmas games, there's only one real option:
