Spent past few days on Warhammer 40,000:Space Marine on 360.
Whilst i was never into the figures, etc, have loved the games based around the setting, be it Space Crusade on 16 Bits, later PSone, the PSP RTS and now this.
Found that whilst it 'borrowed' ideas from so many games, it handled itself very well and i finally completed it this afternoon.
Off to try Halo 4 now.
Played Just Cause 2 a lot more today. Can't get enough of this game.
Played some Wii games over the weekend:
Dream Pinball
Need For Speed Pro Street
Ghost Squad
WWE 13
Namco Museum Remix
Finished Halo 4 on 360 (nice, but Reach the far better Halo game, plot here went a little too 'Mass Effect 2' for my liking, espically closing chapters!).
Had a look at what games i'd deleted on my PS3 HDD and re-downloaded:
Impossible Mission (Mini), tried the reboot version, awful, but could'nt get back into the orig, guess played too much of on C64 at the time.
Astro Tripper (PSN), old-ish PC game converted, nice little trippy/reflex shoot-em-up, but found time limit too restrective, so did'nt stick with it.
Rampart -Loved this on Lynx, used to play for hours, again, just did'nt stay with it for long as felt 'over-familar'
Alien Breed. not a patch on the Amiga originals, was going fine till game crashed whilst trying to load in new level.
Started playing the Zen Pinball 2 Star Wars DLC pack on PS3 tonight. Still learning the rules for the three tables but the ESB table is my favorite so far. Multi-stage missions with checkpoints, stacking multiball modes, and lots of pop-up figures/targets moving around on the table. Definitely video pinball and not much realism, but plenty of Star Wars fun.

I really like Astro Tripper. One of my favorite PS3 games. Pom Pom also released Alien Zombie Megadeath for PS3 and the Alien Zombie Death mini. They're similar to Astro Tripper with frantic gameplay and a multiplier scoring system, but played in a Bubble Bobble-ish platformer. And, I don't think the missions have any time limits.
I played a couple of hours on Transformers Fall Of Cybertron last night, absolutely fantastic game! It kind of uses the Energon/Prime cartoon show character models and story arcs. though the War For Cybertron and Fall Of Cybertron are intended to be parts of a trilogy leading up to when the Transformers leave Cybertron and come to Earth. I've just played the first two decepticon campaign missions and have been playing as members of the combaticons. I recently unlocked a "Retro Blaster" which basically looks like your carrying the Gen 1 pistol form of Megatron and it sounds just like it too and even when ur enemies die it looks like it would in Gen 1. It is TRULY awesome lol
Ultrapro on xbox live
Not today but last night I played Gravity Rush on my Vita.
Very unique game with a really cool art style and comic book type cut scenes.
It was also free for PS+ membersÂ
Highly recommend.
Fired up the PS2:
Killer 7, nice to see a 60 HZ option (and ahh good old Renderware, where would the PS2 be with out it), love the look/style of the game, but as to W.T.F is going on or what i'm supposed to do, pfffffhhh. I'll have to come back to this 1. LOL.
SOS:The Final Escape (low budget game?) Hmmn.Curios little game, must admit love the setting, a true survival game for once, F**Ked up my 1st rescue attempt though, lass stuck in a bus which is in danger of tipping off the bridge, found the rope, but as soon as i try and make my way to her, bus tips over, we both plummet to our doom.Any tips anyone?.
Tried 'Primal' on PS2, sigh.....
Here we go again, just like 'The Getaway', here's a game Sony clearly have thrown huge resources at (I could'nt fault the Getaway for it's ambition, it's high production values, hell it even has a Progressive Scan mode, but so much was broken on it, not least of all the targeting system, frustration killed any interest).
So again, huge production values ,16:9, 60 Hz, Progressive Scan options, streams extra assests off DVD for more Polygons than you'd find in a 'normal' PS2 game, professional voice acting etc etc), but what's the point of putting all these resources into a game, when the fundamentals are so poor?
The poor combat and basic puzzles just did'nt warrant further playing.
Really loved Sony Cambridges PSone Medievil 1+2, did'nt rate C-12, Final Resistance that much though.
I cannot fault their technical skills, but it's just overly sweet icing on a very poor cake.
I played some Scarface on the Wii, very hard game

Primal was a pity. Lovely visuals but crap combat and camera movement made me ill. Getaway also looks great but plays like a dog. It just needed simple twin stick control FFS!
Ghosthunter was ace though.
Considering the years The Getaway was in development (PS1 version was actualy shown to Playstation Plus magazine, just before PS2 version was finished), the fact they could'nt even fix something so basic as auto-aiming, thus rendering combat a truely frustrating exp.shows the focus was purely on the production values, rather than making an enjoyable game.
Something i've found repeated on a number of high profile Sony/PS2 games, high production values, lavish ad.campains, but a linear game riddled with flawswhen you finally get to play it.
I could'nt fault Wipeout:Fusion on PS2 technically, but it felt so sterile next to the PS1 series.
The Getaway, some superb ideas in there, could have been THE GTA type game set in London, but by trying too much to create a 'photo-realistic' setting and putting in as much realism as possible, it became a spluttering mess. How it got scores of 7/10 at the time astounds me.
As for Ghost Hunter?
Possibly THE best looking Sony Europe PS2 game, stunning lighting, great textures, fantastic character models etc, but sat on top of a very mixed game, it did'nt seem to know what it wanted to be, was it going for the comedy aspect, a la Ghost Busters? or was it trying to play it straight as an adventure game?.
The puzzles were as bad as those in Primal and man alive, who on earth thought: 'you know what this game REALLY needs, a STEALTH section, yeah, that'd be awesome!'
No, no it would'nt, it'd be (and indeed was) a bloody stupid idea, something that not only added nothing to the game, but felt so out of place you just new the game had been designed by marketing, not gamers.
It was a tick box of ideas:Outstanding visuals, marketing can really run with that, 60 Hz, Progressive Scan:Check, what else, come guys ideas...Um, combat-great, combats in, what else? Puzzles shouts someone else, yep, bung 'em in, what else is in these days? stealth shouts a voice at back of room, MGS is huge, yeah, stealth, put some stealth in there boys, the kids will love a bit of that, breaks up gamestyles, lovely jubbly.
I played some Scarface on the Wii, very hard gameÂ

Dunno IF difficulty has changed over Xbox version, but i poured hours into that, still re-visit, what you finding difficult with it?.
Downloaded Lemmings on my PSVita. Awesome version of the game.
Mentioned these over in the PS2 VS DC thread, but been going through my PS2 collection to try games i missed out on as a PS2 owner the 1st time around, have to say, whilst the PS2 did indeed deliver 'the goods' with games like:
Silent Hill 2, GTA3+V.C,Burnout, Black, both God Of War titles and Cold Winter, i'm just NOT seeing the machine Sony promised.
60Hz option on games? very patchy, let alone W/S, Dolby 5.1? i've only seen in 1 game, MGS2 and that was cut-scenes only, Dolby Pro Logic II seems thin on the ground, limited texture Ram so apparent in many games.
Then you've the technically outstanding, but gameplay vacums like Wipeout Fusion, The Getaway, Primal, Ghost Hunter etc, that i'd quite happily see lower quality visuals if it meant better gameplay.
I'm currently enjoying Shinobi on PS2 (but technically that started out as a Dreamcast project, so it's not been built for PS2 only), but a lack of check points seems a massive over-sight.
No G-Police or Colony Wars seems shocking omission.
Seems a lot of the PS2 games i had high hopes for (Exo, New Midwinter game, New Xcom/Freedom Ridge etc) got canned early on.
Likes of Res.Evil 4, View.Joe, Killer 7 started off on G.C, the SEGA Ages comps stayed Import only in the main, so a Pal PS2 so far, massive let down for myself.
Going to continue trying the games i've missed but so far? dissapointment be thy name for so many titles.
