I didn't realise there wasn't a "what have you played" thread for modern machines so I better start one.
Post away people
I've played Lords of Midnight on iPad and watched my son playing Skylanders Giants.
Only modern game I played today was Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. I found it in the bargain bin for next to nothing so I picked it up and it's not bad. Gameplay isn't anything new but it's still kinda fun and it has a great story.

I thought that was a fun game too. It mixed up action, puzzles and platforming really nicely. Great characters in a vibrant world and now it can be picked really cheaply there's no excuse not to play it!
Played episode 1 of the Walking Dead series. Nearly completed it.

What do you think about it so far?
Finally going to play this. I remember the previews on G4's X-Play and I thought who would make such a game!

Well, naughty is one word for it! LOL
Played a bit of Retro City Rampage, loving it so far.
I have been playing Mad World this afternoon.
Took me ages to get the hang of the controls, especially holding and operating 2 controllers at once!
But now I have I love it! The game is just so violent its untrue and some of the deaths are insane!!!
If I ever pick up a Wii or a Wii U Mad World will be one of the first games I get. Love the look of the game.
Today I played the following Wii games:
Cruis'n
Red Steel
Alien Syndrome
Been playing (and just completed) Spec Op's:The Line on 360 past few days.
Mixed feelings, technically, very good, loved enviromental factors (use of sand, sandstorms coming in etc), solid few days play, nice to see Nolan North getting more work 🙂 and at times game did make me question what i was doing, whole 'moral issue of war' mixed with just WTF is going on? stuff.
However, like Max Payne 3, it became a stage clearing slog as troops arrived in en mass, clear, move, cut scene stuff using game engine, more troops arrive etc.
And, whilst i can appreciate it's trying to portray the horrors of war, like Homefront, i did'nt enjoy the stages where people are set on fire by W.P weapons, but also, the option to execute wounded troops crawling on the ground (press B to execute), just found crass and distasteful.
It lost any impact as it was B to execute, X to collect this, A to take cover etc, your actions being boiled down to a simple button press.
And yet again it's another modern day game that once completed, i'll never replay and will be forgotten in weeks, let alone years by myself.
15 mins of Rush 'n' Attack on XBLA when I got home from work. I still haven't rescued the prisoners despite many years of trying!
I have been playing Dream Pinball and Red Steel on the Wii.
I am really getting into Red Steel now, I have got through to the 3rd scenario. It took me a while to get used to the controls but they are second nature now. I have to say for the £3 I paid for this I am well pleased, especially as I previously knew nothing about it. It's probably not the type of game I would usually play either being that it is so modern in style. I guess there is hope for me yet!
