HMV are selling the Wii U Premium Pack 32GB plus ZombieU in store for £199.99.
Things must be getting bad . . . .
Official line from HMV is 'Whilst stocks last'.Does smack of stock clearance, flog it off at a small loss now, rather than even bigger loss down the line. The timing in particular struck me, if the (sh*t) PS4 showcase from Sony has pulled in over 20 Million viewings so far and MS Xbox Next only a few weeks away....it really does look as if punters content to stick with PC/PS3/360 and put the cash on either a PC gaming rig or the next offerings from Sony+MS, with Ps4 game annoucements coming in at a steady rate already, time Ms reveals it's exclusives, are the likes of Monster Hunter, Lego City Underground and Pikimin 3 really going to reverse fortunes for the Wii U?.
Nintendo moves to calm Wii U fears as unofficial UK price cuts fail

Point not lost. Nintendo 1985 - To retailer - We will buy back all consoles that do not sell.
Nintendo 2013 - To retailers - Sorry we are having technical problems and we can't hear you.
Wii U Need For speed Most Wanted then?
'boasts':Crisper roads, hubcap designs and building fronts, improved draw distance and reflection mapping (more buildings reflected in puddles etc)+revamped night time lighting etc, so the extra Ram etc helped out here and frame rate does'nt drop as low as it can on PS3/360, will only drop as low as 25 FPS on Wii as opposed to the 20 FPS drops on PS3/360 but....
It's running in same resolution (1280X704), at same frame rate (30 FPS) uses same textures for things such as the white lines on the road and only has 6 racers in the online multi-player as opposed to 8 on PS3/360.
So technically, whilst it's fantastic to see Wii U hardware being written for, rather than given a best fit port, i've yet to see anything that really outshines the PS3/360 versions.
The 'PC' textures that media were claiming would be in, seems more like:In line with PC textures in specific areas rather than applied to all of game and it's dissapointing not to see the online aspects equal that of the Ps3/360 versions.
Good start, Wii U needs lot more like this, but personally still waiting for the def.Wii U version of a cross-platform console game.

After reading the comparisons, I'll be getting the Wii U version. Specs may not equal a $$$ PC but it still offers the best graphics/draw distance/framerate available on any console. Not bad for a first attempt at porting to a new platform.
And, most important added feature for me, NFS:MW fully supports gamepad play. 'Portable' version of the full console game. :21:
Among the multi-platform ports so far, the Wii U seems to have the best versions of Sonic Racing Transformed, Tekken Tag 2, and now NFS:MW. Either with best graphics quality, worthwhile exclusive content, or both.
I was really excited to see what the Wii U had to offer. Now, I just do not feel it anymore.
I wish nothing but the best for all the game manufactures. I hope folks keep buying and enjoying. Still remember the downturn of video games in the early eighties and never want to experience it again.
New game for Wii U!!!!

think its pretty safe to say now that the wii u bubble has officially popped and people have realised how much of a flop it actually is. I think the mainstream that they tapped with the original Wii are clearly not "UP" on things when it comes to consoles and they either saw the Wii U commercials and just figured it was another Wii peripheral or update and as its an old console that held everyones interest for about 5 mins no one can be arsed to buy it... thats the impression I'm getting based on the way things have gone so far... I mean correct me if I'm wrong
the best thing that can come out of this whole mess is that Microsoft and Sony will hopefully take note of Nintendos mistakes and try to learn from them
and hopefully Nintendo will try to come up with something better next time... though I fear for them as they had almost backed themselves into a "Niche" easily accessible and family friendly corner... now that has failed for them I don't know what they will do to come back

The Wii reminds me of the Nintendo Entertainment System. Everyone had one. The Wii U seems like the Super Nintendo in that it started off slow and has to prove itself.
It seems like the same cycle over again.

No way! The SNES had games for a start and it sold well from day 1

Actually I think it depends on what part of the world you live in. I don't know what it was like in the UK but in NA that's exactly the way it was. Everybody and their grandmother had a NES but by the time they launched the SNES lot's of people had bought either a Genesis / MegaDrive, or a Turbografx. It took a while for people to start buying the SNES.
Thanks Shadowrunner!!!!
:-[
I forget about the ocean separation and did not mean to slight the Super Nintendo sales in other parts of the world.
Shadowrunner called it right here in NA. I still remember how easy it was to buy a Super Nintendo if you had the cash. System boxes stacked high on display units.
I never remember any lines to buy one when they hit the stores.
Eventually it found its market share and the rest is history.
