I watched this last night.  It was always good to see Cary Grant.  Another dose of Hitchcock.  If you're familiar with the story behind the production of this film then you'll know that it had to have a lot of script changes to get past the censors, that did make the ending some what abrupt and strange to my mind.  The film has some suspense, but I think because of the script changes that it wasn't particularly executed that well.

I watched this a few nights back, it can best be described as a comedy thriller and I was pleased to see it had Billy Burke from Revolution in it. A highly enjoyable film from start to finish I recommend giving this film a watch if you are looking for something a bit different!

Last night I watched this.  A really good thriller.  I highly recommend it.  I can't give too much of the plot away as that would spoil it.  The only negative thing about it was that perhaps it could have with about 20 minutes trimmed from the beginning.  A lot of exposition wasn't needed.  But, all in all it was very good.  The last 15 minutes turn up the tension nicely. 

It was directed by Henri-Georges Clouzot.  Apparently he was known as the "French Hitchcock" because he directed a lot of thrillers.  I am going to check out more of his work soon. 

There was a remake of the above film in 1996.  Apparently it was pretty bad - which doesn't surprise me as it was directed by Jeremiah S. Chechik, who made that wonderful film "The Avengers"(the update of the 1960s TV show - not the Marvel comic book adaptation) - and we all know how that turned out!

I think that there were a couple of TV film adaptations as well.

I watched this a few nights back, it's a fun vampire based comedy with none of your twilight nonsense. What made this film especially interesting for me was that the whole thing was funded via Kickstarter! Well done to the people who supported it because I really enjoyed it.

I just got back from watching GI Joe Retaliation.  What a sorry excuse for a movie.  Whoever wrote this has no clue what GI Joe is about.  And I really have no clue what the reshooting was all about.  Very disappointing.

Thanks for the heads up TrekMD! I liked the first one but did not like the way they changed character backgrounds. The new cartoon was similar in changing characters origins.

Watched Sliver Linings just over a week ago. A truely great film, with career defining performances from Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence (for which she won an oscar). Very moving, clever and funny in parts. Highly recommended 9/10

I watched this last night and I totally agree, it was a very engaging film from start to finish. The acting was superb, the story was great and everything about it just worked perfectly.

Yeah, I watched this last night.  It took me about 20 minutes or so to get into the story.  Like a lot of Russell's work it's offbeat.  Whilst it does deal a bit with mental illness, there are also other themes such as love, friendship and family in the film.  Jennifer Lawrence was amazing in her role.  She is probably more of a central character than Bradley Cooper's role.  De Niro had a pretty good supporting part - at least he wasn't just going through the motions like a lot of his recent work.  The end dance sequence reminded a lot of Strictly Ballroom.  Interesting film, I'll be on the look out for Russell's next one Nailed, which I think might be out by the end of the year.  I think he is doing another film with Jennifer Lawrence after that as well.

I watched Argo last night and I have to say, wow what a film! I can see why this has won so many accolades. The story is brilliant ans the acting is absolute top notch. The movie keeps you enthralled the whole way through and the ending is just superb. I must see film for everyone out there.

Argo is a superb movie.  Extremely well written and acted.  The "noise" for this movie with the Oscars was well deserved. 

Took my family to watch The Croods the other day and it was brilliantly funny.  One of the best animated movies I have seen in a while. Highly recommended.

Wow, that must have been great TrekMD.  Plus, you saw it in IMAX - for extra W I D E N E S S!  I remember seeing it on its first release way back in 1993. 

Anyway last night I watched the following :-

I had heard a lot of hype around this film.  It was okay, but I think that I'll probably find the sequels have a better developed story.  I think there was some controversy with the film and that fact a lot of the violence from the books were edited out of it - it's about kids hunting one another after all!  It was interesting seeing Jennifer Lawrence again, so much so that I then watched this :-

It was a low budget teen horror film of sorts.  Quite good and I suppose a slightly different take on the genre.  There are a few shock moments. 

I watched a House At The End Of The Street recently for the same reason, can't remember if I posted about it here or not, I think I did.

Was pretty good and not as predictable as many films of it's type.
