My daughter moved into her own place recently, so I have been given the go ahead to use the room for my retro gaming collection. Once all her stuff has gone I can put up shelves and put my consoles and games in there
My brother gave me a big old CRT tv so I will be able to use the Master System light Phaser and any other light guns I get too. Can't wait to get started.
That is good news! Congratts on your daughter finding her wings and the new space for all that retro goodness!
Nice! Pics when it's done.
Now that is good news!!!!
Nice, nice! Your own gaming room!Â
Great stuff...but won't you miss your poor daughter after she's gone?, or has it been counting the days down? Lol..
Either way I'm sure you both will find solace , you in your new gaming haven, and her in her brand new apartment..
As sure shot said..you must show us all some photos of it when it's done..
And congratulations
Sweet! As much as I dread the day my little girl flies the coop I do cherish the day I am sat in my own retro room, playing MD games in a 100" cinema screen while waiting for my hip replacement.

Well, it's been a while coming but today we got to Ikea and bought the shelves and a single bed / chair thingummy which I can sit on or visitors can sleep on if they stay overnight. The shelves are up and tied to the wall, and we got a smaller CRT tv as the one I had was too big once the bed is folded out 😀
I have started sorting stuff onto shelves but still have lots of stuff to sort out before it's complete. Also at Ikea today we picked up some retro space invader style decorative stickers, and they look great in the packet and should look good on the walls too. I was also given the go ahead to add some retro gaming art or pictures to the walls 😉
Pictures maybe soon...
First pics of my games room...
Another pic of before ...
Now we added some stickers
that my friend is just Epic!!!...I'm mad jealous...if I ever get a chance to do something like this, I'll know then how you felt
The main problem is that the room is quite small and we still have to have a bed facility which takes up some room I also underestimated how much shelving I'd need for everything. I have A Nintendo 64, BBC B, 3 Amiga's, 2 Spectrums and others still to fit in.
you'll manage it mate..you'll make it work no matter what..
