Just thought I’d post a quick update for anyone who hasn’t checked bitmapsoft.co.uk recently — there’s been a steady stream of new stuff and upcoming releases over the last stretch, especially across Spectrum, Game Boy and Amiga.

Here’s a rundown of the last 10 notable games / releases to hit the store or open for pre-order:

• World of Spells (ZX Spectrum) – Pre-orders are live. Classic fantasy vibes and looking very much at home on the Speccy.
• Lightseeker (Game Boy Color) – Roguelike-style action RPG for GBC. Fight, die, upgrade, repeat. One of the more ambitious handheld releases lately.
• Fast Food 2 (Amiga) – An unofficial sequel to the Dizzy spin-off, built using the Scorpion Engine. Nice to see the Amiga getting more love.
• S.C.I.O.N (ZX Spectrum) – Upcoming run-and-gun from SausageWareGames. Very much in the Commando / Midnight Resistance style.
• Squirrel Falls (Game Boy) – Out now. A solid new GB title with classic arcade sensibilities.
• Sofia the Witch (GB / GBC Collector Editions) – Limited physical releases for fans of the series and collectors.
• Glory Hunters (Game Boy) – Popular release that’s been in and out of stock. Clearly found its audience.
• Pineapple Kid (Game Boy) – Puzzle-based maze game with lots of charm and replayability.
• Cursed Castle II (ZX Spectrum) – A follow-up to the original, continuing the modern-retro Spectrum trend.
• Savage Princess 2 (ZX Spectrum) – Another sequel landing well with Speccy fans.

Overall, Bitmap Soft just keeps quietly doing what it does best — new physical releases for old systems, proper boxed editions, and support for a wide range of retro platforms. Whether you’re into Spectrum, Game Boy, Amiga or just collecting cool indie releases, there’s usually something worth checking out.

Anyone picked any of these up yet? Curious what people’s favourites are lately.

The pineapples always dreamt of having a happier life in a place called Pineapple Paradise. The legendary Tower that can grant the passage to Pineapple Paradise is rumored to appear once in a 100 years but no one dared to challenge the Tower, and so the legend became only a tale. Until one day, Pineapple Kid stood up and made a journey to the Tower. She was granted by the Emperor the title of Princess of Xixerella and now she rules her small country promoting peace and tolerance. However, people are lately disappearing without trace. Investigations carried out by secret agents establish a connection of this fact with the secretive Society of the Inner Light, behind which an obscure entity known as Grim Reaper hides. He exploits the life force of people by turning them into hideous beasts, to boost his might, as well as to build and supply energy to deadly fighting machines, which he plans to unleash in order to take over the whole Empire. An all-out attack is out of the question, since Imperial forces would risk to be annihilated, thus it is Sophia who has to turn to action. She will have to penetrate the tower where the Society has its seat, crossing a dungeon and an underwater passage, finally confronting the Grim Reaper face to face.

More here https://www.bitmapsoft.co.uk/product/sophia-2/

Karl Hörnell and Bitmap Soft have worked together to bring you this exclusive and official release. The game is readily available free online and this version is only enhanced for Tape release.

The game is an arcade style game represented in an elevated 2.5-dimensional graphical perspective.

Along with the ability to move left or right across the landscape, you can also move up and down the screen as well as jump up onto ledges and over gaps. To complete each level, you need to collect all the mushrooms and return back to your starting point within a given amount of time.

Along the way, Fungus can pick up bonus bricks to increase the score points and use teleporters to reach otherwise inaccessible areas. Unlike in his first adventure, Fungus has prepared himself with a pistol to help him see off some of the more difficult creatures that he cannot avoid. If Fungus comes in contact with a creature or falls off the island into water or down a chasm, then he loses one of his three lives and respawns back at the starting point.

More here https://www.bitmapsoft.co.uk/product/fungus-ii/
