Back in the 80’s when I was a kid I was obsessed with Ninjas. I loved the cheesy films that they created about the great warriors from Japan. So when System 3 decided to create it’s Last Ninja franchise then obviously I just had to buy them out of my pocket money. My favorite of the series was Last Ninja 2: Back With A Vengeance. Probably because they released a special edition that had a Ninja star and a Ninja Mask, which when you are a kid is pretty cool.
The game follows on after the events of the original and now having got the Koga scrolls, Armakuni is training a new breed of Ninja when he is mysteriously transported to 20th Century New York City. The player controls the Ninja in a isometric view which allows the character to move in 8 directions and jump. The levels are well laid out and features enemies that are armed with weapons that you need to take out. The player must also pick up various items that are required in order to complete the game. In order to replenish energy that is lost during battle there are hot dogs which you can pick up to help you. The Last Ninja 2 is a great game by system 3 that is a classic, even today.
The Last Ninja 2 is a game for anyone that like games which feature a good combination of fighting and puzzles.
