I just (re)watched The Last Starfighter.  It's been a while but I wanted to watch it again.  After watching reviews of the Atari 5200 it brought good memories of the movie.  The movie is clearly a product of the 80's and it has crude CGI but it is still fun to watch.

Watched this a few nights ago just by chance. Can't believe how 'not cool' it was compared to 1984 lol.
I could barely stomach the so called acting and the visual effects were awful. I did however go look up the fan made game and =http://www.roguesynapse.com/games/last_starfighter.phpdownloaded it to my ancient XP laptop. Took it for a spin only to bsod on this pos but was worth a peep  :P

Also checked out The Graduate (1967). Been out 50 years so figured it was time 8)
Excellent movie with some awesome jams. By today's standards, I don't think Elaine Robinson's character ready and willing to marry anyone that mentioned it is very realistic but what do I know. I'm an early 70's dude :p
Also, it looked in several shots/angles like Mrs. Robinson had a mustache ??? Or she was just dirty lol (unwashed)
And it must have been like licking an ashtray when Rainman kissed that hoe. Ugh!

Was nice to see Mr. Roper from Three's Company in there though. Also that mayor guy from Jaws. Great stuff :p

I bought the Blu Ray of The Last Starfighter a while ago. . . yeah it has not aged well lol.

Well, I've had some time to catch up watching some movies.  Here are some I've watched:

Kong Skull Island, which was interesting and nicely done.  The SFX were well done and the story flows well.  There is an after-credits scene here that is quite interesting as it opens the door for future movies that are not necessarily related to Kong himself.  I give this one 8/10.

War for the Planet of the Apes.  This is the next chapter in the story of the Planet of the Apes. I thought this was too long but it was cool to see some of the known characters of the TV show being introduced as young versions of themselves.  I won't say which ones to not spoil.  I give this one a 7/10.

The last one was The Mummy.  What a POS movie this is!  The story is entirely different from the campy movie with Brendan Fraiser but that doesn't matter.  The problem is poorly written and the execution falls short.  They introduce one other monster character here as well because this is Universal's attempt to create a unified monster universe.  This gets a 3/10.

LOL  Well, she is pretty but, as far as I'm concerned, that's not enough to save this movie.

Watched Slaughterhouse-Five (1972). For some reason I thought this move/book was controversial for some reason but if so, I don't know what. It was just weird.

By the way, she's the same actress who played Jaylah in Star Trek Beyond.  Loved her in that role and I sure hope they bring her back.

Ugh, I just watched Wonder Woman 2017. What a crapfest ???
Not even going to bother linking to it lol. After so many months of build up, hype and trailers that were epic, this movie sucked.
So many inaccuracies in the parts that could've been deemed relevant or believable based on actual history but also the racist undertone toward people who have/had literally nothing to do with any of America's past. It was laughable and absurd but as long as we're rewriting history, removing statues because they massacre people and in the end we can all rest assured that it's all whitey's fault, who am I to bring an ounce of reality to the table and deter the agenda?
Wondering if the same people who wrote season 2 of Supergirl were in charge of this...

Two thumbs way down.

Wow, well, I believe you're in the small minority there, Saturn.  The average score for this movie (based on reviews that people have posted) is 90%.

Yeah, the scores were pretty high for the Blindside way back as well but I did a full write up on Facebook as to why that was one of the most racist films of all time and when I was finished, had 'enlightened' a lot of people to things they conveniently missed in the film. I'm not one who follows the masses as I can think for myself-which is apparently reason enough to be tried and convicted without ever making it to the court room these days ;)

Edit:
Either way, I kept waiting for it to get good but it never did. And some of the scenes were agony to watch. Like, after WW 'thought' she killed Ares atop the tower and Steve spending the next 4 or 5 minutes explaining the basic fundamentals of war to her like she was retarded. I was embarrassed to witness this travesty LOL
Or how her mother swayed 180 degrees-almost in the same sentence-about not having Dianna fight or train at all then telling Antiope to train her harder than anyone ever. WTF?

Edit again:
I hope Justice League is better and/or continues what DC has been able to do recently to compete with Marvel's incredible movies. Don't know why they ruined this one with such an unremarkable back story but hopefully they can hire new writers that have some sense of depth or a director that can envision the full story and the impact it will have on people who actually pay attention to the details..

Watched Annabelle: Creation (2017) with high hopes for serious scares. The movie started out pretty strong but fizzled almost immediately after the opening for what seemed like ages. After a few cheap scares and way too much mundane back story, it got a little more intense but failed to deliver in the end. But, it's still open ended for another sequel if they can find anything to write about.
Definitely not worth the price of admission but I'd give it a 4/10. :-\

I must admit I'm with Saturn in regards to Wonder Women, I didn't thing it was particularly good.
After the good reviews, trailers, hype etc I expected it to be better. I thought I had missed something but it's not just me thankfully. It's just average.
Having said that I do believe Gal Gadot is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen.

Last night while uploading the rest of my Doom mod videos to youtube, I watched a couple of movies to finish off a trilogy I'd started a while back. I won't be sleeping for weeks LOL

Open Water 2: Adrift (2006). While this one lacked the expected sharks from the 1st movie it was every bit as nerve wracking as it could be. Watching these dummies lose everything-including themselves-all due to stupidity was beyond belief. Safety was so close the entire movie and although it said based on true events, I don't know how this could happen even though it looks faintly plausible. I won't ruin it but a nice ride to keep you on the edge of your seat 8)

Open Water 3: Cage Dive (2017). This one was terrifying lol. The very last scene made me jump, followed by a near heart attack. Awesome :D
Back to the sharks here when a rogue wave sunk their friggin boat after chumming the water to attract great whites. And if that wasn't bad enough the petty personal problems these idiots fought amongst the rest of the movie was unreal. I wanted to line 'em up and slap them 3 stooges style.
It's got a low 4.2 rating on IMDB at this time but I don't know how. The fear gained from this is the real kind. Far more mentally scarring than any horror movie about some teenage killing freak. If you like the feeling impending doom and dread please watch this one. It wreaks of it 8)
It also said at the beginning, thanks to all the families involved but I call bs on that..

Just saw Mission Impossible (1996). Wow, I guess this was good back in the day but by today's standards, a travesty LOL. I'm doing the entire quintology... or whatever you call 5 movies and can only hope they get better. This one leaped from situation to situation without adequate explanation of wth was taking place. I was lost for the better part of the 1st half. And all the yelling with strained, fake emotion. Then I saw some old Windows 95 non hacking bs on the screen and had to laugh as Tom Cruise was falling asleep sending emails. Ha! Wish I would have watched this 21 years ago instead. Then maybe I could have added to the ridiculous 7.1 rating it currently has on IMDB.
I'm 30 minutes into the 2nd one and fighting to stay awake. ::)

No large picture for you MI 1:
