Well I got this today on email...

Hi, Eugenio!

We are contacting you regarding your Atari ‘Retro’ console order.

We have just received an official statement from the manufacturer regarding production:

“We received the latest samples from the manufacturer at the back end of last week and they were much better than the previous set of samples we saw before Christmas - a lot of progress has been made.

Despite this positive progress, the product is still not 'final' and we have requested some additional amends, to ensure we preserve the expected quality and performance associated with an Officially Licensed Atari product.

Whilst I understand this is disappointing for everyone concerned we believe that it is the right thing to delay rather than rush product to market.  We are now looking to launch on the 18th of May for the TV Joystick product and the 15th June for the Handheld product.

We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.”

Cool.  I'm working, what will be, a rather long email with feedback for the podcast.  I've listened to 11 episodes already and giving feedback o 10 games.  Still need a few more days to send it but at least I got it started.  :)

Indeed.  It does look like a cool little machine.  :)

RepliCade x Tempest is a fully-playable miniature arcade cabinet developed by New Wave Toys and officially licensed by Atari.

Tempest was released by Atari in 1980 and was an instant arcade classic. Now, New Wave Toys is creating the ultimate collector's piece in highly detailed 1/6 scale!

Their RepliCade x Tempest machine is constructed of wood and metal and features a custom-made Modular Spinner Knob controller with two interchangeable size options: 1/6 scale for show and a larger knob for better control during play modes. Accurately reproduced FIRE and SUPER ZAPPER buttons feature modern gamepad quality.

All RepliCade Amusements run the original ROM you remember playing back in the arcade, and this Tempest machine is no exception!

Episode 29: E.T. Book Cart 7800 and Roof Pooper
A (thankfully?) short episode this time! Don't like reading in the bathroom? Well, now with episode 29 you can use your Atari 7800 to separate the reading from the bathroom!

5003002, Wall Ball!
Hi there, thanks for your patience for this episode on Wall Ball from Avalon Hill. I was finishing the editing on Wednesday morning when Sarah went to work. We thought the front porch was wet, but it was covered with ice. She fell and it was very scary, she was in a lot of pain. I ended up bringing her to the doctor to find out she had bruised her ribs. She is doing better now but the pain sneaks up on her still. Thanks to all of you again for your patience and well wishes.

Extra special thanks to Hoji and Kate Scott, who both helped me with this show by telling me about the programmer, Duncan Scott. Duncan sadly passed away in 2011, but when I contacted Kate she was very gracious and willing to help. She got together with her mom and they both answered the questions I sent. Thank you both so much!

Next up is the prototype for Tempest, by Atari. This is readily available on Flashback systems and also on Atari Age. I would love to hear your feedback on Tempest which you can send to me at 2600gamebygame@gmail.com. Please send it to me by the end of the day February 18th. Thank you so much for listening!
