New Sega Genesis/MD Homebrew - Maldita Castilla
« on: July 08, 2015, 01:28:16 AM »
Matilda Castilla, developed by Locomalito is an original title currently available for OUYA and Windows PC.  The game takes inspiration from Ghosts'N'Ghouls and it is now being ported to the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive.  A preview of the game is already available, though it is nothing more than a teaser for the game (see video below) as it lacks enemies or collision detection.  All we get for now is a video showing your main character running around one level.

More information about the game, as well as downloadable files for the currently existing versions are available here:  Maldita Castilla - An arcade adventure of chivalry and horror.

I've played this on the PC and I can say it's one of the best Ghost n Goblins homages out there, this will look completely at home with the megadrive as a fully fledged retail title than actually will be actually worth purchasing when it arrives.

The game is rock hard too, so you won't be clearing it anything time soon.

I have it on the OUYA and I agree with your assessment!  It clones GnG so well that it is hard too!  :)
