I completely forgot about this, but just received an update email.

Dear Friends,

it was a long time of silence. Sorry for that but i really want to contact you
if we got news for you. And now, here we go. Our developer is working now
on the Code to change different things. As promised we add more content like
adding new cutscenes and more. So today we are very proud to present you the
first new screenshots of "It Came from the Desert - The Action Game - Extended Cut".

So we hope you like the new Screenshots. Within the next updates (we promise it won´t took again 6 months) we will inform you about other change, when preorder starts and also the exact release date. Right now we have the target around december 2015.

This is part of a new cutscene which will appear later in the game. We are working right now on finishing the script so our artist can create the scenes.

My advice to them would be to change the name, this is nothing like the Amiga game that showed the rest of the world that even a 1985 Amiga 1000 was still better than all that PC VGA/SNES stuff churned out in the early 90s

You can't mix RPG with top down Commando-esque shmups IMO
